Here's the new graph. I hate to say it but I think that projection is probably pretty accurate unless Joel has some major announcement before the end, like DKs idea of a 35th anniversary in-person mini-con celebration type thing. I don't think just announcing Jonah, Patton and gang will be back will really do anything. And man, at this rate, they're not even going to hit the minimum 6 show level. Oh, and if there is some major announcement, that probably throws off our projection, because we're basing it on how KS2 ran which was the basic reverse bell-curve with no big surprise bumps in the middle.

These crowdfunders actually give you quite a bit of data in their rewards pages.
A couple things I found --
If you scroll to the bottom of the rewards to the big spenders and start adding, you quickly see that around $200K has come from only 120 big spenders. (Which by they way, the big spender rewards are all already there this time. Remember last time, they kept adding more.)
I notice that the expensive shirts are selling well.
If you simply add up the Digital Season Bundle and Digital Deluxe Bundle you essentially get how many people are buying a new season pass for S14. Right now that sits at around 4100.
Throw in the big spenders and round up, and in 3 days we have around 4300 people that when asked, re-upped for another season of gizmoplex. Not great, but not too bad if Joel weren't asking for multi-millions of dollars from them.

More math sluething--
If you go back to the old KS and do the math on their pie charts it looks like kickstarter charged an 8% fee, and if you look at the new graph chart is says 5%. So definitely less, but still there.
....holy crap, I just did the simple math--7.4/5.5, and Joel's essentially asking for 35% more than he did the last 2 times! 45% more for just the 6 ep level (4.8/3.3)! For a product that, even for those that really like it, have to admit has had diminishing production quality. That's, um, pretty ballsy?

You still got credit card and paypal processing fees and whatever the licensing fee you have for the crowdfundr software. Paypal, for example, charges 3%.
Also as I noted before, you have the option of covering those overhead fees. So depending on how many go for that, that 5% is going to be less.
Since you didnt mention these numbers: 80% of backers are Season Pass reups. Then you have 30% that are buying the Blu-ray. No way of knowing how many are backers who are buying the Blu-ray as an alternative to getting the Season Pass.
Yeah we talked earlier about how he is asking for so much more money. The 6-ep goal is now only .7 below the previous full 12-ep goal. I can see them getting the original 5.5 goal but not much more. No explanation yet why its so much more, if they need the money for permanent studios, sets and offices, and supposedly details are coming. They admitted they miscalculated the goals when initially shooting the video, maybe the 7.4 is another big goof?
Btw it WOULD be ballsy but Joel isn't asking for anymore money for Season Passes and Blurays than last time. Prices are the same for rewards.

I wonder if people covering those fees themselves is reflecting in the totals.
I'm really hoping for another update from Joel with specifics on their plans and why it costs so damn much this time. Inflation is probably a part of it, but my inflation calculator says between '21 and now, cumulative inflation was 13.4%. A decent amount, but not the 35-45% difference.

Big jump of like 20k. 200+ backers in the last hour. Not sure if they announced something or someone on social media shared it.
Up to 960k
Edit: They sent out an email with the same "Joel answers 5 questions" update.

I just looked at Kickstarter, and they charge a 5% fee for using them. Their payment processing fee is 3% + $0.20 per pledge. Pledges under $10 "have a discounted micropledge fee of 5% + $0.05 per pledge." I'd have the stats for Crowdfundr here but for some unknown reason I can't access their site because of "too many requests from your IP" even though I never tried to access it before now. I think it has to be 2% because the 3% payment processing fee is the standard. ....holy crap, I just did the simple math--7.4/5.5, and Joel's essentially asking for 35% more than he did the last 2 times! 45% more for just the 6 ep level (4.8/3.3)! I have more thoughts on that, but I will go into them sometime later. Preview: How much did limiting their interaction with fans mostly to their bubble of super-supporters on their Discourse Forum, Kickstarter, and in the highly censored Facebook groups affect NuMST's ability to read the room with regards to the general reception of Season 13 in the wider fandom? If all you see is people telling you they can't wait to give you more money, what happens when you realize there's quite a few people who can wait?

What I would love to see, and know I never will, is the "New Episodes 65%" cost broken down into components. Even "Movie Rights" vs. everything else would be helpful.

If all you see is people telling you they can't wait to give you more money, what happens when you realize there's quite a few people who can wait? You'd think they'd have some idea based on Gizmoplex sales after the fundraiser. I feel like gaining a new audience is the biggest thing missing here. Having a closed ecosystem means nobody's wandering into the Gizmoplex by mistake and happening to get hooked on the show. You have to already know of it. Also this whole thing about was the Gizmoplex supposed to be self sustaining. It feels like they used sneaky words that people could understand either way based on what they want. Nobody lied but I wouldn't consider their posting entirley upfront.

That email seems to have helped quite a bit. They've raised 50k+ since noon. May even go over 1 million before noon tomorrow.

I wonder what kickstarter would think if they knew that they were using the kickstarter email system to send out updates about a seperate non-KS campaign.
I'm getting them and I didn't even back the 2nd KS, just the first.

I don't think it's officially a Kickstarter email system. It's probably just an email list they took from their combined Kickstarter campaigns.
Edit: the email they're sending from is "kickstarter@mst3k.com"
So they're hosting it, themselves. Although calling the email sender "kickstarter" is a little...devious, I guess.
The actual official updates from the Kickstarter campaigns themselves came from an actual Kickstarter email address "no-reply@kickstarter.com"

They've just crossed the 1 million threshold. Pretty impressive haul for only sending out a not-terribly substantive email 3.5 hours ago.
Already well exceeded yesterday's total haul, also. Maybe a lot of people just missed that first email?

Errr... they sent out that e-mail yesterday though. I didn't receive an e-mail from the campaign today at all.
