Interesting. I actually didn't catch the top thing was a video and read all the stuff first. Then I went back up looking for a total and couldn't find it, but found the video. Odd video. And where's the total? Is it because I'm not logged in?

I saw in the highlights ticker that they’re over $250k.
I would assume a total raised graphic is coming soon.

The progress can be seen here: showmaker.mst3k.com/profiles/mystery-science-theater-3000I backed digital and for the blu-ray. I really enjoyed the Gizmoplex content and the events, and Shout always does a good job with the home video releases. I will admit I am disappointed in the physical rewards, but I get that they were stretched to the limits with Season 13. So no more snow globes or backer coins or popcorn buckets or posters. The shirts, stickers and magnets are fine. But I don't feel the need to own any of them.

I’ll be in for the blu-ray set, no other trinkets. I’ve still got shirts from the Comedy Central era that I don’t wear!

Pass. If I hear the new season is amazing after it premieres, I'll buy a la carte.
Whatever surprises they have in the campaign would really have to sell me for me to rethink this time.
Like, say, building physical permanent sets in a real, physical studio space and having everyone write in said physical space. But I'm not going to hold my breath.
Edit: Showmaker. Interesting. Must've finally had enough of Kickstarter.

I agree with Diet Kolos on this. Very big hard pass. I will probably spring for the DVD's later on, once they're released.

And regardless of whatever quibblings over quality I may have, which I know not everyone shares, I DO know that quite a few more people care about the fact that the last Kickstarter explicitly said they were building a platform so that they wouldn't have to keep doing fundraisers for every new season.
I'm seeing quite a few people on the subreddit bring this point up as a reason why they're not backing. And it seem like a pretty valid point.
But, hey, I'm sure they'll raise 5-10 million, again, and the people that like it will continue to. More power to 'em. I'll be watching from the sidelines with bemused interest.

Also, not sure if this is a problem for anyone else, but that new fundraising site does NOT play nicely with my mobile browser. Definitely not KS.

It looks like the showmaker thing is internal to mst3k.com and being powered by connectionpoint.com

I think that there are at least two types of MST3K fans: Ones that enjoy the original and ones that enjoy both (are there fans that hate the original but like the new seasons?).
I thought that I was one that would like both, but I find myself never rewatching the new episodes.
I will probably skip sponsoring the new season unless they offer KTMAs as rewards. Or, if those remastered originals are offered in digital or physical formats for ownership.

Ah, makes sense.
And I mean that in the best way. They cut out the middle man, finally. Savvy move.

Am I seeing correctly that there's no commenting available on their fundraising site except at the time you donate?
Smart move on their part if true. Don't want any haters (like me, LOL) bringing up inconvenient truths about past promises and results. I'll keep looking.

This might be the most lethargic and robotic pitch I've ever seen. Who is this guy? Have we seen him before in any capacity? Joel just looks sad.
Barring a lottery win, I'm not participating. Season 13 was okay enough for a "free with ads" watch on Pluto. But if I had paid any amount of money, especially in advance, I'd have been very angry with the final result.
Unless Joel and company can address the various lingering issues - the pathetic production design, the bad host segments, which of the multiple casts are coming back and who aren't, there's really not much to incentivize me to pay in advance.
I hope this works out, I hope we get more MST3K. But this is a far cry from the earnest and enthusiastic pitch for The Return.

He's Matt somethingorother. He's been an exec producer/writer/whatever the last few years. He appeared briefly in Season 12 as an alternate host or something. "Matt Claude Van Dam".
He has zero charisma, that's for sure.
