I would pay money to NEVER see that. EVER! If I show up, Phantom's not the only one who'll "experience" me, I promise.

What I Learned By Going To Internet Meet UpsLower your expectations. In fact, have absolutely no expectations except that you are traveling to the pre-arranged city, staying at the hotel where you made your reservations for X number of nights, then traveling home. That way, you can not be let down by the fact that some people aren't the same way in person that they are online. *gasp* haha...actually, it's best not to think about it. I have maintained acquaintanceships through informal meet-ups over the past few years via a couple of music collectors' message boards. I was quite surprised that the guys I met were a lot more mature, smarter and on-the-level than those who I encounter 'in real life'. However, we're talking common fandom amongst computer literate people about TV shows and music here, not internet dating (a practice of emerging mainstream appeal which I am strongly against, but that's a entirely different topic)

I like everybody. Except for Phantom. But I love you. some people aren't the same way in person that they are online. OK, fine. You don't have to draw me a picture. I'll try to be more entertaining this time. Sheesh, you're high maintenance!

However, we're talking common fandom amongst computer literate people about TV shows and music here, not internet dating (a practice of emerging mainstream appeal which I am strongly against, but that's a entirely different topic) I was at the first meet-up. It was a small group. We all kind of looked out for each other. Occasionally things got a little weird, (read "wrestling" ) but that's why we have separate rooms. You can retreat if things get weird. If nothing else, you get a trip to Denver, and if everyone else there repulses you, you go do your own thing. Also, there's something to be said for having a similar sense of humor. If nothing else, you know the folks there also care about your favorite little puppet show. I was surprised at how much weight that can carry when a disparate group of folks like us get together.

Anyone into the idea of a cookout for one of the lunches? Might be fun.
