Yucca was the last of the Colman Francis ouvre I saw. (A Colman Francis ouvre? That sounds so wrong.)
Perhaps my view is colored by the fact that I dreaded the actual film so much, having already experienced the hell that is Red Zone Cuba and Skydivers.
Still, too much pain.

Neptune Men, Didn't the guys at MST3UK love it? I'll have to re-check that, fuzzy memory. Yucca Flats I DID NOT want to see, gawd do I loathe Coleman. And so many people told me it was great so it had 2 things going against it, Coleman and it was over hyped. When I got it, my ass actually fell off from laughing so hard. It's true, I now keep my ass on a shelf near the stereo. So that's why I love it so much, It delivered the goods against all the odds. Final Sacrifce in my mind is an "Event" show, like Manos, Mitchell. So many memorable characers and situations. And for those of us who rank it high, the memory of that first showing is like sweet ambrosia. Food of the Gods, I tells ya! To each his own. Now one I feel gets over rated is Hamlet. Dang it people it is NOT a D+ episode, no way. D at best and that's being generous!

That's cool, hey if it made you laugh that's all that matters.
As to Zilla vs Megs, I've watched it a lot. Over-watched it perhaps trying to figure out what I'm missing. I like it, gave it a B, but I just don't laugh hard enough to the point where I can figure out what all the commotion is.
I'm probably like those Final Sacrifcie people wondering why we all liked it to the degree that we do.
It's not I find it (Megs) a bad episode, I just don't find it to be a great one.

NOW I understand why you all like The Final Sacrifice so much, it's a "classic", like Pod People or Prince of Space! A bunch of dumb characters with dumb situations that are so memorable that it becomes "classic". Well, in that case, i'll agree with you. It doesn't hit the laugh meter as high as Hobgoblins, Deathstalker, Space Mutiny, Terror From The Year 5000, etc. hit though.

I have never really liked "Cave Dwellers" maybe because I haven't seen 'Conan the Barbarian' and I don't realize what it is a rip off of. Plus I was probably paying too much attention to the chick.

It doesn't hit the laugh meter as high as Hobgoblins, Deathstalker, Space Mutiny, Terror From The Year 5000, etc. hit though. Yeah, I think that's true. But the riffs have to be there too. If not I'd have dropped t to a B+/A-. Personally Sacrifice makes me laugh more than Hobgoblins or Space Mutiny. So for me, the goofy flick + the laugh factor all equals a classic eiposde. Hey, what can I say. I watch Sacrifice I do the big, tears in the eyes, belly laughs. Now why it doesn't do that for everyone? I don't know but it's the whole package for me. Since were talking Sacrifice and Hamlet so much, hypothetically if I had a "laugh meter" = Sacrifice would hit 98%, Hamlet about 20%. Still, something like "Daddy Day Care would register a .4%. So as has been stated a few times, the worse MST is better than most of those supposed comedies out there.

Sidehackers. It is pretty good but after reading Don's and Forrests reviews I'd say it's over-rated. I remembered it very fondly from years ago but after watching it twice in the last few months I'm not that impressed. It starts off good but the last third or so really slowed down. Good early ep but not great.

ok-for whatever reason, parts:TCH just doesn't seem that great to me, even with the occasionally decent riffs, the subject matter of the movie just repulsed me-i can not explain why. or maybe it was the host segments-the Space Children really irritated me for some reason-
i've watched it twice, maybe i should go back for a third try?

I think Sidhackers is great, but I allways knock points off of it because of that out of the blue Lucille Ball impersonation Crow does while Rommel and his chick are necking. I mean what the hell?

I don't know, one ep that everyone seems to love that I really just didn't get into was Teenagers From Outer Space. I just really didn't find many funny riffs in this one. The torture guy was funny, but, the movie was horrible and the riffs just weren't that great.

I think that "The Amazing Colossal Man" is actually over-rated, as well as all of the B.I.G. movies. I haven't seen it for a few years, but I remember that I was excited about watching it and was disappointed. The riffs didn't sparkle, the movie was pretty dull, mostly just a display of bad forced-perspective special effects. It just didn't hit my funny bone, I guess.
As for "The Final Sacrifice", I think it has classic characters, but also great riffs throughout. Especially in the opening credit sequence: "I understand everything up to the word 'A'." "He comes from a long line of Greidanuses." "That's an illegal use of a silent consonant." "Go away, Shane, go away!" "That's an anagram for 'Direct to Video'." It's one of the funniest opening credit sequences I've ever seen.
I have over-watched "Mitchell" and "Pod People" to the point that they are not very funny anymore. Maybe that means the riffs aren't very strong. Nothing catches me by surprise in those movies. So I have stopped watching them, hoping that in time I will forget a lot of the episode, thus replenishing the surprise factor whenever I do watch them again.

Yeah,Its hard for me to watch Pod People and Mitchell. Another one that I feel is over-rated is Jack Frost.

I just read Forrest's review for "The Amazing Colossal Man", and I agree with most of what he wrote, except I would give it a lower rating. I must add that the host segments were really good, and "What sin could a man commit in a single lifetime?" is one of the most memorable lines in any of their movies. But still, it wasn't enough for me to really enjoy it. It's weird, I generally like cheesy '50's scifi movies, except for B.I.G.'s. I think "Phantom Planet" has better riffing, and the "good and beautiful" speech rivals the "What sin...?" line.
