I made sure my Sweet wife was into MST3K long before we consumated our nuptuals. And it has made for 11 years of being able to talk to each other in public in "Mistielese" and stupifying everyone within earshot. Speaking of "Mistie Chicks"--last night we watched "The Girl in Lover's Lane". Whos was that chick in the bathtub--vavavavoom!

"my internet girlfriend" (this is a joke between us) from Memphis loves MST3K. She is absolutely gorgeous and I wish she were really my lover. We're really just friends.
Uh, I'm risking sounding like a total nerd with an internet crush...to clarify:
I knew her before (she jokingly said this when I broke up with my ex after 6 years of hell). She isn't some stranger I met on a chat page or something. I have a lot of friends in Memphis and I communicate to them on a board very much like this one (except we can use the F word all we want!).
I'm a...uh, man of the world, nudge nudge (see Monty Python)
Being a MSTie does not make you an instant nerd like being a trekkie or LOTR fan or Star Wars fanatic does. I like women, have relationships with them (i.e. I don't just dream of them), I've got a drinking problem, I play in a band, I am a fan of psychedelics...I uh...I SWEAR I'M NOT A GEEK!
I am extremely self-concious though, I think I made that clear just now. Gah! I've painted myself into a corner here...I didn't intend for this thread to seem sleazy, mysogynistic, creepy or disrespectful! I was just curious and uh, drunk and I made a bad joke. Apologies to all female MSTies. I love women, but it seems they're always trying to kill me.

Yeah, I didn't mean to stereotype anyone with my post. I just wanted to try to explain what I thought, which is difficult on a message board lol.
What I meant was that most people (guys and girls) aren't into stuff that makes you think too much. I'm sure that most of us can agree on this. If not, let me know that i'm wrong, since this is how I see the world, and I wouldn't want to be wrong about something like this.
Actually, I think there just happens to be more guys than girls that are fans of the show. It just worked out that way, I guess. However, from watching "This is MST3K", there seemed to be alot of female fans, so I dont't really know the truth. After all, this is only an internet message board with ~150 members. ;D

MST3K has never helped any of my relationships.I swear Ive been dumped because of it. Oh I feel your pain. I was in a relationship once where most of our arguments were about "Me not wanting ot sit quietly through a movie!" Titanic, for example. I was punched and hit rather violently because I kept reffering to Leonardo as Leo Decapitate. Plus I got the - "I sit and watch that stupid puppet show of yours! At least you could sit through a movie I like!!!" Well, I tried. Honestly. I really did. .....Well, for a few minutes ....then the riffs would flow like a burst dam. But, of course, it may just be me. I can't keep my "smart-ass" mouth shut during movies. I never have been able to. If I see something that needs a good riffing, then by God, I shall riff it!!!!!! And besides, those are some really cool toys and fun things on MST.

Yep, I have a problem keeping my mouth shut too. Or maybe it was because I tied her down to the couch and forced her to watch Manos.I thought leather straps and chains were supposed to be kinky.I dunno, maybe I was doing it wrong.

Manos caused one of the biggest gutter-mouth arguments with my ex-woman friend. I was told that I needed serious psychological help and possibly medication for defending the wonder and awe that is Manos, The Hands of Fate. The entire time she would belittle me for my MST3K's I would walk around behind her doing the "Torgo theme". Once, I spent a couple of hours taping it on an audio tape just so I could take a jam-box into the bathroom with me and crank the Torgo theme as I showered. I admit that I may be a "little off" but hey! Who isn't?

I've said it once and I'll say it again: If I happen to find a girl who is into Mystery Science Theater 3000 as much as I am, without question, I have found the girl I was meant to be with for the rest of my life. If she can recite the riffs from Invasion of the Neptune Men as quickly as I can, and spout out "ROWSDOWER!" at random moments of the day like I do, then I truly believe this is the woman I was destined to be with. The same can also be said for Family Guy, although not as much as MST3K.
Which is exactly why I hope that Christy Carlson Romano a.k.a. The Girl Of My Dreams a.k.a. My Future Wife, is a diehard MSTie! ;D

For some reason I have always found myself with high standards (as far as looks) but if I found a girl that really liked MST3K I feel, that I'd found a soulmate, no matter how she looked. But then again she'd probably laugh at the notion of going out with me.

i'm also a female fan of the show, and have been for years now. i remember first seeing it when i was really little too, sadly though, my mom thinks i'm insane for even likeing it. she thinks they are "mean" to the actors in the movies. but if i forced her to watch "the final sacrifice" or "Mitchell", i'm sure she would see where they were coming from.

I just finished watching Batwoman for the first time. Definatley horrible. I could barley get through it. Mike & the bots couldn't even do much for this one. I'm glad I got it to complete my collection of everything Rhino has released on dvd, but I doubt I'll be viewing this one again.

And another attempted comedy even though it's been said the Catalina Caper was the only intentional comedy they did. A bad drama can be funny but a bad comedy just hurts. DEEP HURTING !!!
