Personally I think that Overdrawn would be a good episode to show a newbie except for one thing, it can be one hell of an eye soar. Well, THEY CHOSE IT!! Actually, I did. I said would be a funny episode and it is but it's bad. I would agree on that.

I think Overdrawn at the Memory Bank is too awful of a movie. I don't think a newbie could stand it. It was my first glance at MST3K.My first official whole episode was Soultaker, but I remember seeing Overdrawn in a hotel room with my family. My dad and I watched and laughed while my sister and mom didn't care.Go figure...

I think Overdrawn at the Memory Bank is too awful of a movie. I don't think a newbie could stand it. A movie that is too awful to watch on a casual first sitting would be something along the lines of "City Limits", "Alien From LA", "The Castle of Fu-Manchu", or any Coleman Francis movie. Too boring to watch for newbies (I couldn't watch The Beast of Yucca Flats for a while, but once I sat down and endured it, it was a hoot!).

Touch of Satan got me interested. The best credit sequence ever.

I've been a fan of MST3K since the beginning of September. I always knew of the show, and I would catch the stuff on the Sci-fi channel from the middle on (Final Sacrifice, Invasion of the Neptune Men, Devil Doll) or the last segment (Merlin). I always wanted to watch a full episode, but I never knew when it was on. When I went back to college last semester, I was looking through my roommates dvd collection and saw that he had MST3K: The Movie. I just had to watch it, so we went through the movie, and I loved it. I was instantly hooked. I read all I could about it (and found out Mike wasn't the only host and that the show was once on Comedy Central). After I tried to record Merlins Shop of Mystical Wonder and instead getting the Weather Channel, I went out and bought Box Set #2. I put in Pod People, and we (me and my friends) had our first Joel experience. Now, a few months later I had the box sets, a few single Rhino dvds (Manos, Eegah!, I Accuse my parents, and Batwoman), and a few home made tapes later I had become a dedicated fan.

Hey, how 'bout that...My sister's friend just came over and told me that he loved the MST3K I had lent him
He had seen bits and pieces of episodes I was watching and asked about it and so my sis and I decided on Space Mutiny. And there's a bonus: he watched it with a friend who seems to really dig it. He tells me that this friend (whom I've never met) is downloading episodes like crazy. It was nice to hear this friend of my sis actually recount his favorite parts, excitedly, in detail; instead of just, "Yeah, it was funny". He even mentioned how hilarious the host segments were (!), something I thought I'd never hear. Not because they suck, but because as we all know, it's not so easy on the first time viewer.
