showing a newbie Space Mutiny = Instant fan True it's a great episode, but I'm a little worried about the host segments. Crow's confusion about wheather or not he's a Valarian or whatever it's called falls REALLY hard. I think Prince of Space would be an easier intro because the segments are above average through out.

and even Pod People, though you dont like that ep. I don't have Escape 2000 but I'm really interested in getting some Season 7 and KTMA episodes, considering those are the only two seasons I haven't seen at least one episode from. Pod People, I'll admit, would be a good one to ease someone into the show. They don't tear the movie to peices and the movie is watchably goofy.

I would start with a short or two. It's not quite as overwhelming as a movie, and often the riffs come quicker. I've had the most success with Progress Island, Robot Rumpus, and A Date With Your Family.
As for full episodes, Godzilla vs. Megalon is a nice introduction. Great host segments, an annoying Japanese boy in short shorts named Kenny, the Jet Jaguar theme song, and guys in goofy rubber suits fighting for 15 minutes. No one can watch that episode and not become a fan.
If you only have more recent episodes, might I suggest Puma Man. He flies like a moron, you know.

She didn't become a fan, but she sat down and watched the show when she was bored and I was watching it. Once we watched Quest for the Delta Knights, and she got a kick out of it. We couldn't stop saying "I'M COMING!" I don't have Godzilla vs. Megalon, though.

If I was trying to get someone into MST,I'd probably show then "I Accuse My Parents". An understandable movie, but it's just so out of date that it's hilarious.Jimmy (Not me,the guy in the movie) is so stupid, and the running jokes of the essay and "Liar,Liar,Liar!" helped make me realize I really love this show.

I tried showing a newbie I Accuse My Parents and he thought it was boring. However he did like the Truck Farmer short that came before it.

I've been thinking of using High School Big Shot to show some friends, yay or nay?

How did you get a bunch of 11 year old into MST3K anyway? The episodes I show have too many obscure references for 15-19 year olds. Maybe it's because I hang out with burnouts and drunks but still that make MST3K as fun and if you're watching a weird episode like Pod People even more fun.
Could it because I usually show Joel episodes?

I've been thinking of using High School Big Shot to show some friends, yay or nay? High School Big Shot could be a good choice but the movie itself is so depressing. Depends on the crowd. Something goofy like Teenagers From Outer Space might be good also.

Even though I was the only one who got the "Oscar, Oscar, Oscar" joke in Bloodlust, (The Odd Couple, right? starring Jack Lemmon and some other famous guy?) there is, in all the episodes, riffs that are easily gotten. for example, Crow or Tom making weird gassy noises when some one is twitching strangely. 3. Maybe it could be, for I am confused during most of those, but I must admit, I love Joel and his episodes.

Except for Godzilla vs. Megalon. I'm sure that's what you meant to say.
To recap: Orville Redenbacher, Godzilla's tail-ride kick, Rex Dart Eskimo Spy, Kenny on the big porpoise tricycle, and Jet Jaguar. It's the one that convinced this newbie to become a fan. Way back in 1991, as a 15 year old.

I don't think a newbie could stand it.
