Vol 6 will have another shorts disc but what I like about a lot of the shorts is how they work into the host segments. One of my favorites is Mr B Natural. I wouldn't want to watch the short without Tom and Crow's debate that follows. Any other favorites?

THERE'S A VOLUME 6?! Dang, I need to come to the board more often. Are you talking about the Essentials?

What to do on a Date just wouldn't be the same without Servo deciding that he also wants to try dating at a scavenger sale.

Catching Ross is pointless without the host segment after. I had Shorts 3 before I ever saw Monster A Go-Go. And I thought it was still a great short. Then I heard everyone talking about how the short was pretty lame without the host segment. But with all the build-up, the "Catching Ross" thing wasn't anything that special.

The first time I saw Mr. B Natural, I was laughing so hard it was ridiculous. I literally had tears flowing down my face the ENTIRE time the short was running. I saw the short without the accompanying host segments, and I did alright without them. I just watched the Ready for Marriage? short yesterday. Yes, the host segments themed on or making fun of the short were funny. However, I think it was more a case of the host segments being funny because of the short, not the short being funny because of the host segments. Dr. F's and Frank's amazement/fear/hysteria at the disappearance of the rubber band was awesome. Yes, shorts are nice in the context of the episode, but I think they can stand on their own, too.

I love the host seg following the Gumby short, and the dinner following A Date With Your Family. here comes the Circus goes just perfectly, seamlessly with the following Host Seg, where Joel pretends to type the bots' ideas. And then there's the Hired! Musical from 423. heck all the host segs in 515 relate to Cheating one, of the best shorts out there!

The Mike Sprite they call me!
Great short segment follewed by a great host segment. So in this case it only exemplifies the already great theater segemnt of A CASE OF SPRING FEVER.

I love those overproduced "NY show tune" shorts by Jerry Fairbanks (?) You know the ones about the Cars of Tomorrow, Phones and the Seattle Worlds Fair. They are so White Man Reality and fey that I probably would laugh myself sick even without the riffing. The guy that produced these really lived in a world all his own!

But with all the build-up, the "Catching Ross" thing wasn't anything that special. The "Catching Ross" sketch was during Teenage Caveman, though, after the short "Catching Trouble." I'm ashamed to say I haven't seen this one yet... I LOVE the shorts all by themselves; they definitely stand on their own. Which is why I'm always going to the Prelinger Archives and checking them out...

The Gumby short thing was funny because of the hate the bot's inflict on the hell spawn. The rock thing was really funny.

The "Catching Ross" sketch was during Teenage Caveman, though, after the short "Catching Trouble." Oops. Yep. And as long as this thread has turned into another Favorites thread, mine has to be Junior Rodeo Daredevils.

And as long as this thread has turned into another Favorites thread, mine has to be Junior Rodeo Daredevils. I'll get it back on track then. It's about your favorite short that has host segments about it.
