This week marked a dayin MST3K episode collecting history. October 13, 2004, 16 years after it became lost, the final host segment for Superdome was found and announced by someone at this board. Soon it will be in the hands of Lee Lovingood and placed to tape and DVD for all the fans who haven't seen it. For those who have been collecting and trading episodes this marks an amazing day for them. No longer will they have to see or post on their own sites offering DVDs/tapes: K15, as with all fan copies, is missing the final host segment.
It had taken over a decade for fans to get their hands on this and I am sure many thought they would NEVER see this host segment.
Now, my question, do you see a time in the future when the lost KTMAs will find their way into our hands and our collection can be 100% complete?

Icould definately see the pilot as an extra. Although who knows with Rhino. Same thing for K01 & K02, problem is they're copyrighted by a fairly large studio. K03 is a big longshot, seeing as Sandy Frank had the American rights many years ago, and I doubt anyone else would have picked them up (unlike the Gamera series).

Of course there's a chance but who would have taped the first one's? It makes sense that it may have taken a few episodes for people to decide they liked it and start taping. So it's possible but it's also possible that no one taped K1 - K3.
But I can hope.

Yeah, Phantom is right. The first one I can't really see happening but 2-3 has a .0001% chance of happening.
In conclusion, Jim Mallon is our best chance.

I have KO1, KO2, and KO3.
Well, actually I had them. You see, there was a fire in my apartment building, and I was able to get 90% of my belongins out of the apartment. Sadly I couldn't get the tape that had those three episodes. They could have been the only copies in the world. I'm so ashamed of myself.

I suppose I meant more: Is there a chance that Mallon will release them for fans? I am sure he has been asked and hundreds of letters sent...
Why is he sitting on them and not putting them out?

Rights issues my friend. K01 and K02 are owned by a the studio that produced the British Series Thunderbirds, so the price for those episodes are more than likely not cheap, and that's ever IF they're going to consider giving up these episodes for mocking. K03 is owned by Sandy Frank, who was mocked several time during the national series. He was furious and promised that he would never sell the episodes to MST3K, just so he would never be mocked again. He also like to get his...I better not.

Would it hurt, you know, if Mallon accidentally slipped a tape with these episodes to fan at a convention or by annoymous mail?

It's not just a rights issue; it's a legal one. Since the KTMA episodes were never made with permission in the first place, BBI CAN'T secure the rights. Then there's Sandy Frank and the fact that BBI supposedly hates the episodes.
The pilot could hopefully be a possibility at some point. I mean, since the pilot was never intended to be seen by anyone but execs, it should be understandable that The Green Slime was not properly secured.
I recall someone having the idea a few years ago for BBI to just release all of the KTMA host segments. THAT could conceivably happen, and I hope it eventually does.

Who's been screwing with the time machine?!?! I don't really know what the rights issues are surrounding Stingray / Captain Scarlet...

BBI owns the host segs so that could happen. A fair amount were released on the Scrapbook Tape. It's just a matter of if they want to. As far as fan copies showing up I checked a broadcast schedule for KTMA and K1-K3 appear to not have been re run so it's unlikely they were taped.

Alright then, so when are we breaking into Jim Mallon's house? We'll give the tapes back of course; we just need to copy them.
