Hobgoblins is one that instantly comes to mind. I can understand why some people don't care for this one due to the sleaziness of the film, but that just simply doesn't bother me and I happen to really like it. Horrors Of Spider Island is the one that gets quite a bit of criticism around here and I'll never understand why. The riffing is excellent, and the misogynistic film is just asking to be torn apart. It's definitely one of my top 10 favorite Sci-Fi episodes. To each his/her own though... I just think it's a great episode that people tend to slag and it genuinely surprises me.

Spider Island I agree, we tend to be on polar opposites on that one. To use Melts own words and applying them to myself. I only slag it because it doesn't make me laugh very much and I'm genuinely surprised that people find it funny.
It's a curiosity but the funny bone is a unique entity. Even when you have a group of folks who love the same thing, they'll disagree when they discuss specifics.
I can't agree with Hamlet because while the 10% who like it do argue strongly. They are still only about 10% for, to 90% against. The same with the Santa's, they are generally held in high regard.
Spider Island, Angels, both are about 50/50 when we discuss them.

Strangely enough, I very much enjoy Quest of the Delta Knights, and I seem to be the only one who does.

Horrors of Spider Island gets a beating, but I like it a lot. Maybe I shouldn't have said "beating."....

Monster A-Go Go is a very divided episode at my estimation. I think it's one of Joel's best and others will agree, but it's never hard to find just as many people who think the movie was so awful that the episode was terrible too.

Is this to say you are a fan of the Fu?

Is this to say you are a fan of the Fu? I thought the same thing. I always felt that received low to middling reviews from fans.

I think the Coleman Francis films pretty much fit the bill of this category. I think you'll have just as many detractors who let the abysmal ineptness of his filmmaking really get to them, while many also praise and rank those episodes as some of the best of all time.

Hamlet. It has quite a vociferous support group along with its unfan club. True but overall I think the detractors outnumber the supporters. What do you, the viewer think? Edit: In fact upon further reflection I think detractors way outnumber the supporters. I really don't think it qualifies as a "divider" ep. Sorry chuck, usually you're solid gold but I disagree here. Perfectly okay (and thanks), Phantom. But I know the arguments over Hamlet usually get pretty heated.

I support "tl's" liking of Delta Knights.
And of the Coleman Francis movies, I've come to really enjoy Red Zone Cuba in its own right. I realize it's a trainwreck of a movie, but it's got weird characters that I've come to know. Particularly once they get to the Catfish restaurant. "My mother was a can opener and my father was a wood duck."
ALMOST true of Sky Divers also. But definitely NOT for Yucca Flats. There's just nothing there to love.

Fu gets a bad rap, cuz it's a bad flick. But I think it's the consummate Experiment. The premise of the show if you will. Bad movie breaks the will of subject, Mad doctors revel, and even try their hand at riffing.

I don't know, lookin at this poll I have to disagree. If you want to tally up the average and prove me wrong go ahead, but a quick glance says you're wrong Phanty. Pod People I also disagree with. I think it's more some people find it an all time classic while some think it's somewhat overrated. Sidehackers is one I've seen worst episode ever, to an all-time classic. Add Red Zone Cuba into that. The Mike comedies Wild World of Batwoman and Angels' Revenge has a love-hate. Beyond that there aren't too many CC episodes, mainly because most haven't seen them besides the Rhino episodes. I don't think there is really many split in the sci-fi era. I guess the best candidates are Horrors of Spider Island (though I think the big opinion is it's an average episode), Screaming Skull, and maybe a couple others. Some of these being mentioned just seem that a particular person is very vocal about their love or hate of it. Pod People (Torgo), The Incredibly Strange Creatures (Samptari), and Hobgoblins (Phantom) come to mind. Overall, I think Hobgoblins is pretty much put in the 4 star range (not my personal opinion just from what I can tell of everyone's reaction), while Phantom and a few others very vocally hate it.

I don't about that Hamlet poll. Only 46 votes out of the thousands of fans (whats the fan club up to, 50 thou?) Also a bunch of us didn't even bother to vote, sick of the Hamlet mud slinging at that point. It was old hat, so I gotta go with Phantom. It's got some violently vocal fans who are fighting to see it get more respect. But the majority of fans have always found that a poor to M'eh experiment.
