After thinking hard about it, I'd give the nod to Monster A-Go Go. Because it was built around a movie that was only half-completed by Bill Rebane, and sloppily finished by Seymor Sheldon (whatever his real name is), with a choppy rip-off ending. Manos is a horrible movie, but it had an intriguing plot (I can't believe I'm saying that), but still had a stupid ending.

That's like asking which is worse: syphillis or the clap!

I don't know Xerxes, I kind of give Monster A-Go Go some slack for the very reasons you state. It was a slap together job just needed for a double feature. It wasn't the result of somebody's "vision" as Manos, sadly was. A tough call, I think there is no definitive answer.

Monster A-Go Go is a worse movie but Manos would have been more embarrassing to have made. Like Phantom said, Monster was a slap together job with no higher aspirations.

Yeah, I had a little bit of discussion with my friend Kitty about this last night...if I movie that's "cobbled together" can be considered one of the worst of all time. If so I think Monster is worse than Manos. And this film, which I saw parts of last night, may be even worse than Monster: www.imdb.com/title/tt0063790/No it can't be worse. It has Mamie in it...

Manos - because it is more amatuerish looking than Monster-A-Go-Go.

Well, Monster A-Go-Go to me is _only_ boring, whereas Manos is actually harmful. Gotta go with the one that gives me the less negative reaction, so, Manos is "worse" in my book. Also, the EXTREME incompetence of Monster A-Go-Go is sorta amusing in a train-wreck oh-my-goddess-I-can't-believe-they-actually-showed-this-in-a-theater kind of way...or maybe it's just me. At any rate, that movie has never really bothered me that much. Whereas Manos contains things that are, as Ron Stoppable would say: "Sick and WRONG!"
:P

If going for art and vision and ending up with boring unwatchable crap is the criteria would have to be Rocket Ship XM.

Monster A Go Go is worse because there was no monster so there was no movie, except that there was....

Monster A-Go-Go had 3 people that should be keelhauled: BOTH directors of both unfinished films, and Herschell Gordon Lewis for taking them into his lab and sewing them together.
Manos, as hard as it may be to grasp, is the work of a single director.

I'll say Monster A Go-Go, because, well, despite the fact that Manos is horrible, painful, and probably should be counted as worse, well, let me put it this Way:
Hal Warren had a distinct Vision. He was ruthless to achieve that vision. He achieved it with only the cost of film and the camera rental
I'd hate to say it, but Manos, while being a worse film, had less to start with and did in fact achieve more in the end. Who has the bigger cult following? Who has the memorable characters? Right now, the popularity of Manos is on the rise and Torgo and The Master are on the verge of becoming real pop culture Icons.

To be honest, Monster a-Go Go acheived it's goal. Fill the bottom half of a double feature so Herschell Gordon Lewis wouldn't have to split the money.

Monster-A-Go-Go gets my vote. At the very least Manos made at least a little bit of sense. Monster on the other hand was just random scenes slapped together to fill time as was already mentioned. I firmly believe Monster-A-Go-Go is the worst film they ever did. Followed quite closely by Red Zone Cuba of course!
