Good point. Hopefully Shout will still be putting out the franchise when that time comes.

Prince had no will, however No, but that's not really a deterrent. There could be a hundred wills dictating what happens to property after someone passes, but at the end of the day, whoever it is bequeathed to has zero actual obligation to hold to the deceased's wishes.

Wade's collection isn't going to have that sort of outside support to challenge the estate should his inheritors decide to do as they will with his former property. Hart's trickier, as her estate will likely be absorbed into the rest of her family's holdings.

and i think Hart's Family at some point is going to sell the movie (and anything Wade owns too).

it's actually surprising they haven't started putting the show on blu-ray or have they?

Since the show was shot in standard definition, not really.
They do offer episodes as bonuses on blu-rays of the uncut films however. Though they're still in SD.

It's yet to catch on in America that I can tell, but they could do an SD-on-blu-ray release with multiple episodes on a single disc. Or they could use HD masters of the films and rotoscope the shadowrama into the new master. Probably not worth the effort, but it's possible!

The former is something that could be done, but I wouldn't bet on it. There's absolutely no incentive to put the show on blu-ray when it would be pretty much the exact same product that they've already put out.
The latter would likely be too much trouble without reward. CBS went through a lot of trouble doing remasters of Star Trek TNG, but there was very little money in the venture. There is no incentive to do anything like that with a show like MST.

Rotoscoping would definitely take way too much effort to look nice. And plus, I'd rather have my MST3K episodes be as close to their original airings as possible. Even if they would be in higher quality, they wouldn't be using the original masters.

i dunno they've put Classic Doctor who on blu-ray now a feat that i never thought was even possible i belong to a doctor who website and i have asked on there in the past about them that show on blu-ray and they said well only one was shot on film and the rest wouldn't look good at all on blu-ray and now they are putting them on blu-ray so go figure. there was another show i'm trying to think of it i was going to use as another example but the name of it escapes me at the moment

Doctor Who is more popular than MST and has far less legal hurdles.
But as mentioned before, a handful of MST episodes actually are on blu-ray. I've only seen one, but it looked like garbage. I don't see Shout investing in collections like that. But if you want episodes on blu-ray, you might want to invest in Shout's blu-rays of The Brain That Wouldn't Die, The Mole People, The Deadly Mantis, The Screaming Skull, and The Bat People.

The BBC cares enough about DW to have invested in meticulous restoration of all the surviving vintage episodes, while Shout Factory just shrugs and says "Tape hits, what can you do?". Upscaled PAL video probably looks a lot better than NTSC standard def upscaled. I have a region free player and the Region 2 Who DVD's I have look great.
