... that was trying to be funny."
I just watched The Starfighters episode for the first time.. And I bring up this topic because of that double-date scene.. with the corn-detassling, etc... It was just embarassingly unfunny. These movies are bad enough, it just makes it worse when they try to be comedians.
Just to be clear, I mean .. imagine the scenes without the riffing. M/J and the bots always make a scene like this hilarious.

All of Hobgoblins, they were trying to be funny I think.

All of Robert Donner's scenes in Catalina Caper were meant to induce laughter. Instead they just induce confusion.

Number 9!
However, I think the movie tried to point out that Crapout was a moron, but it's funny to me because I hear similar jokes from coworkers and friends who create a dumb or overly vulgar build-up with an unsatisfying punchline.

uhhh, everything that was supposed to be funny in Angel's Revenge.
The giant duck "jokes" in Village of the Giants.
Alan Hale's jokes in the Giant Spider Invasion Har yar yar yark
Really, pretty much every joke assayed by every screenwriter in every movie they did. I'm straining, but I can't think of a joke that really worked in a movie!

That annoyingass guy in The Ring of Terror who does a lame Italian accent. KILL HIM! KILL HIM! That always struck me as ironic. That guy was Joel, I almost expected him to do a phone routine and they were angry at him.

Not a finalist in this category, but those scenes in "Zombie Nightmare" where the annoying blonde-haired prick is hitting on the drive-in waitress, and there's always a witness when the girl humiliates him with some comment about the size of his tool.
Not funny.

Alan Hale's jokes in the Giant Spider Invasion Har yar yar yark ;D I like the way you put that. Somehow his performance inspires deep pity mixed with some loathing, rather than chuckles.

Now thats the horror of Pod People. How that could be funny is beyond me. I guess anything goes in Spain.
I agree that the stupid scenes in Catalina Caper of that one guy constantly falling in water were painful. I just couldn't take how stupid that was. I guess we were supposed to find that funny...I think.

I for one loved how the guy did the ok sign then went, "It stinks!" in Pod People.

I watched Last of the Wild Horses last night. The character Remedy is so unfunny, the lead actor can be seen wincing during their comedy scenes together.
