I usually don't watch a lot of TV but I did get hooked on CSI and this season, I'm actually going to be watching more than my average.
What are yor thoughts so far?
I caught the first 2 episodes of JOEY and I think they'll be my last. The problem is that on Friends, Joey was the punchline to many a joke. But, you can't base a show on the punchline, you need the set up. They have tried to smarten him up a tiny bit, which kills the character. I don't like his sister and as a whole, it's just not very funny. I'll pass.
CSI NY I love these shows but how many more can they do? This one is going to try and be more character driven but aside from Gary Sineas no one stands out so far. It might not seem possible but this is actually darker, more grim. I'll give it a chance, but except for a final, haunting speech by Sineas' character, it didn't overly impress or disappoint me.
CSI Miami The suprise death wasn't really a suprise to fans who visit message boards. I like this show, It's not great but I like it. The season opener was about the same as anything else they've done. Solid.
Tomorrows the big night. the original and best CSI, yeah baby! And "Without a Trace" premieres.
I'll also watch "Joan of Arcadia" and "Cold Case" but will pass, as always, on "Survivor" and I have no interest what so ever, in anything Jason Alexander does. His smug demeanor in everything he does, always puts me off. So I'll avoid his show like the plague.

I thought the second episode of Joey was much better than the first. I think I'll watch it as something to do until the Apprentice (although, still not watching Will and Grace, sorry NBC, you're going to have to try harder than that).
Speaking of the Apprentice, it looks like it's going to be very solid this year. The only decent reality show on TV (other than Joe Schmo, but that's not exactly "reality").
I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the season premiere of Star Trek: Enterprise. Last year was solid, and with a three episode cameo of Brent Spiner (and possibly Shatner if they get their deal worked out), you can't go wrong. Best Trek series ever.
And of course, I'll watch the Simpsons again, as always. It's stopped being just loving the show a long time ago, now it's just tradition.

All of my shows started in new episodes in the summer"
Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Teen Titans, Justice League Unlimited, Venture Brothers, Inuyasha and Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
For some reason I haven't been watching MXC but I still love that show.

I don't watch any shows from the broadcast networks, but I think they should just create a new channel...CSI TV My fav channels are History Channel, Food Network, ESPN, Cartoon Network, and the Weather Channel. There is a couple of shows I try to catch when new ones are on; The Daily Show and Real Time with Bill Maher. Later...

I tend to get sucked into some new TV shows this time every year. But this season, I don't have any interest in any of the new stuff.
So I'll continue to PVR new stuff in my usual TV standards (The Daily Show, Modern Marvels, Nova, Good Eats, Ebert & that other guy, NFL Prime Time, SNL, Frontline), but will try to avoid recording anything else, aside from movies.
(Of course, someone at work will probably try to convince me to watch something new, so I hope I can hold out.)

CSI My favorite show currently and to this point, the best I'd seen. If it had a problem it was that it was too ambitious. They had 4 cases going on and I had a hard time keeping track of what was going on in each case. Still, this is the best show on television today.
Without A Trace Wow, and this one topped them all. Intense, some nice human drama, great story. Outstanding way to start the season.
As I stated before, I haven't watched this much network TV in a long time. In fact, I watch so little TV that I got rid of cable a year ago and didn't miss it.
But I've always loved mysteries, always been facinated by the science of solving a crime. So while I hate the reality TV trend, the mystery/crime solving trend gives me something to watch that I seriously enjoy.
Great night of TV. Thumbs up!

I NEVER (almost never) watch commercial TV these days. Nothing interests me. My TV's sole purpose is to watch DVDs and MST3K, that's it. That's about it for me. The new shows aren't about me anyway. My wife still watches ER, but its such a sappy soap that I leave the room when she turns it on. Time for a good book!

My girlfriend watches that ER crap too...and I also leave the room...bad thing is, now it's on in the morning too, when I'm getting ready for work, so she gets up early to watch it

Law and Order is kinda meh now that Dave Farina joined the crew. All he is is some Italy obsessed cop that knows everything and is incredible conservative. At least detective Green is still there.

He seems like he's going to make it go down the path of Law & Order: Criminal Intent which I could never stand because Goren knew everything about everything. At least I still like Law & Order: SVU. The Law & Orders are probably pretty much the only show I actually watch on TV.

"Lost" was great, and I'm really looking forward to next week and finding out more about some of the survivors. I just hope they've really got a plan for where they're going with this; I love "Alias," but about every two months on that show they seem to just wrap the slate clean and head off in a completely new direction. I'll be very disappointed if "Lost" end up working the same way. With the large number of characters and possible mysteries, you'd think they'd be able to sustain it for quite a while.
Good reviews convinced me to give "Veronica Mars" a try, and I'm really glad I did. It was billed as kind of a "Nancy Drew 90210," but it's much more ambitious than that. There's a sense of real danger and a decidedly grim element to Veronica's world that keeps this from being just another teen soap. Plus hints of some Laura Palmer-style long term plotlines....
Really like Gary Sinise, so I gave "CSI: NY" a try. Man, they gotta lighten up on the jokes on that show! I mean, I was laughing so hard I could barely follow the creepy-as-hell mystery....

I liked "Lost" also Jazzman but I wish it were a miniseries insead. It was a good setup but i'd like to see it resolved instead od dragging it out.
