In one of his comments on the Kickstarter page, Joel clarified that the only reward the $3.3m Turkey Day Challenge was going to unlock (apart from six new episodes) was every $85+ backer's name in the credits. When asked about the KTMA episodes, he said that IF that was what he was talking about, he'd want to make sure that working copies were available before any promises could be made. He said he'd update us about it soon, which I take as essentially confirming it's in the works. Either way, it's currently not tied to the Turkey Day Challenge. We really need to spread the word on this one.

When the Kickstarter was first announced, I posted the link on my Facebook wall. The first friend who responded is a MST hater who wrote, "I don't think this has any reason to exist." It was then that I wanted to start my own Kickstarter campaign, one dedicated to raising enough money for the $6500 obscure riff tier so I could claim it, and have the chance to make a joke at my friend's expense. And for every additional $500 raised, I would make the riff more elaborate by also mocking things he loves.

A couple of days ago on Twitter, Joel said he would reveal the new Mad before Turkey Day. It would be nice going into Thanksgiving with a big, fat surge.

The 25k donation was made a couple of days ago. What shocks me is that there are still a couple of Servos left. The Servos were freed up a few days ago when a few backers dropped out. Maybe this is just me being naive, but I'm still surprised that somebody hasn't swept them up as soon as they became available again. Yeah, I know 8k is a lot to throw down for a puppet, but I seem to recall that they and the Crows were claimed very quickly in the first few days of the campaign.

So this means that Mark Hamill is going to be listed as an Executive Producer on the new episodes? That's funny. I don't think it was Mark Hamill that claimed that tier. Someone in the comments section of the board is saying they were the ones, and a bit of research by other backers has revealed that this person is behind some other big donations. Don't know if it's true. I guess we'll find out next year when we see Hamill's name on the credits or not.
