You know I loved a good psychological drama, but my sweet Lord, that was the most depressing film I've ever seen!
I have mixed feelings. The start of the film is very thought provoking. The thought that we don't know what another person is going through and our assumptions are often wrong, seems to be the focal point.
But for me, the narrative flow breaks down at the end and I suspect that the film version differs from the end of the book. (What was the point being made, that our false assumptions will consume and destroy us?)
I'd read the book just to see if my suspicions are right, but I don't think they make enough anti-depressants in the world to get me through another round of this story.
Some superb acting, interesting story idea but a bitter pill to swallow. Can't say its a favorite.
Gawd when is Big Fish comming to town!? I need to see a good movie (and I'm hoping this is one. I'm not going into the thread here before I see it)
