Yet again, Bill Gibron offers a great write-up. This is top-notch stuff.

Thanks for posting this. Great write up and he makes several valid points.
But for me, it's always been about the laughs. If you make me laugh then to hell with the rest of it and the stupid critisism.
If SCTV can use Mother Teresa for a laugh in a skit, I don't see how people can get upset about MST mocking these films. I'm sorry but Clonus Horror doesn't rank with Mother Teresa in terms of importance.
It's a joke people, lighten up!

I agree that people shouldn't take BBI's treatment of these "classics" so seriously. Especially now that the show has been completely off the air for over one year and canceled for six. People like me wouldn't have even known about these mostly obscure films if it weren't for MST.

Id like to start collecting the whole series from the time nelson took over as host BOOOOOOOOOOOO Anyway if you start with Boxsets go with 4 and 5 because they are both Mike boxsets. Pretty much every other boxset has a Joel episode on it so you would have to deal with that. Also Mike has a few individual episodes out which are "Red zone Cuba" "The wild world of batwoman" and "The brain that wouldn't die" (Which is Mike's first episode) If you want the rest of the episodes I suggest you get them from monkey boy.

Helpful Suggestions for Obtaining Mike Episodes: #1: Get the following commercially released Rhino episodes- "The Brain That Wouldn't Die", "The Wild World of Bat-woman", "The Beginning of the End", and "Red Zone Cuba". Some of these DVDs have pictures of Joel on them. This is a printing error, ignore it. #2: Get the second half of Season Five from a Tape Trader/Seller. I have two recommendations. The first is www.mst3ktapes.com. I've obtained episodes from the person running this site for a long time. Very trustworthy. The second is www.mst3kvideos.com. I haven't obtained any episodes from him yet, but everything I've heard about him is positive. I'll probably be getting episodes from him in the near future. He's also a hoopy member of this site who goes by the name "Skyroniter." He also has a special deal going his for fellow board members, such as yourself. You could also try to get episodes from me, but you should only do that if the two previous froods should suddenly suffer from a Spontaneous Massive Existence Failure. #3: Get Season Six from a Tape Trader/Seller. #4: Get the following commercially released Rhino Collection Box Sets- Collection 1, 2, & 3. These sets include Joel episodes. I recommend you watch them as well. #5: Get "Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie". This may be a bit difficult because, due to the unfortunate belief that it isn't worth printing, Universal has allowed the film to go out of print on both VHS and DVD. You can get used copies of the VHS at various places on-line. Getting a used DVD is much more pricey, which is odd because there's nothing particularly great about it. It's just rare. I haven't seen Tape Traders/Sellers offer dubs of it, but there are ways to see it if you know where to look and who to ask. Anyway, let's move on. #6: Get Season Seven from a Tape Trader/Seller. This season is ridiculously short (thanks to Comedy Central) and if you're bored you can probably watch all the episodes in one day. #7: Get Seasons Eight & Nine from a Tape Trader/Seller. #8: Get the following commercially released Rhino Collection Box Sets- Collection 4, 5, & 7. Collection 7 includes several Joel episodes. Give em a shot. #9: Get Season Ten from a Tape Trader/Seller. You're done. Ta-da! After you've obtained Season Ten, I suggest you go back and get all the Joel episodes. There are also several specials, extras bits, and (if you're up for it) the KTMA series. If you want more advice, let me know. Till then, Share and Enjoy.

Why would do you, only want Mike eps trillia? Well if you've been keeping up with her MST-related posts, you'd know that she prefers Mike episodes over Joel episodes. Partially because she finds Mike to be a better and more enthusiastic host by comparison, but mostly because she thinks he's "hot". While she hasn't said this, I have a theory that she also wants to start collecting episodes from the era that got her interested in the series. She only started watching eight years ago, so I'm guessing her first shows were Mike shows. I wanted to collect episodes from Seasons Three and Four first because they were the episodes that introduced me to the series, albeit the MST Hour versions. Anyway, she likes "Manos" so I think she just wants to get all the Mike episodes first. Then she'll try and get the Joel episodes too. After all, Mike appears in several of them.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Are you talking about mst3ktapes.com? If so, it depends on which season you are interested in getting (some seasons have more episodes than others) and quality. I've been getting his EP DVDs, so I've been getting seasons for less than 100.
