Rhino has never given us the maximum effort. The proof is in the product. Doesn't this have to do with the false assumption that MST only has a handful of fans in every state? Or as it has been put 'A fanbase a mile long and an inch deep?' Well, that's what I'm guessing at least. I don't pretend to speak for Rhino. Use your words.. lol. I have no clue what your trying to say. False assumption about... hmm, no, you've lost me (I haven't slept in days so you might need to use flash cards with me)

This is inexcusable. Sorry, it just is. You can't conciously release a crappy product and say: "we're too lazy to make it better." Laziness is why the tape was messed up and why they couldn't get a better one?

I would speculate it comes down to the green. The more time they put into the disc the more costly to them - and at the end, less of the bottom line. Profit.
Rhino said they tried to clean it up but there only so much they are going to invest towards that endeavor. This isn't the Yellow Submarine with a million dollar re-mastering budget. Their next cheapest alternative would be to try and locate a better copy, but even that is going to suck up more time and more money.
I think they should act more professionally and be a lot more open with us fans. But I know realistically our show isn't going to get the red carpet treatment. I don't know how SCTV did, who fronted the bill for that costly release (Of course, the discs are twice as expensive as comparable sets - would we be willing to pay more if Rhino or the BBI invested more into restoration etc?)
But I also don't understand why our shows tapes have degraded to that degree, when older releases like Kolchak, Kung Fu (neither were big budget releases) have not.
Edit for spell check. D-Oh!

I think now they should simply be sure they have a good quality copy and are able to make some good quality transfers before they announce things and put it on the market. They wouldn't lose any more, if they, you know, actually looked at the source before it's too late.
Bottom line is profit is correct. You know what then, don't buy crappy Rhino DVDs then. Simple as that.
