I mean, the odds of us getting any new Corman films on a DVD release are now incredibly slim. I'd personally say that it'd be easier to get Sandy Frank films at this point.
The one possibility is that Disney might possibly in some infinitesimal way realize that there's money to be made if they release these movies as MST3K episodes rather than as their original uncut versions. Doubtful, but mildly possible.

This won't affect MSTies... just because Corman produced a movie, doesn't mean he owns it now.

You know we're all screwed.
Disney will never let RHINO get near those movies. Not as long as Michael Eisner's running the dump. The man is known for only making LOUSY desicions. And since, letting Rhino get a hold of those movies, is NOT a lousy choice...
You do the math.
I'm just wondering what's gonna happen with The Gunslinger now.

Eisner is no longer there, so that at least is a non-issue. robert Iger is now running the show there. Does this mean it will be easier to work with Disney? I'm not sure, but since Iger took over, Pixar looks to be coming back to Disney, more releases are being made available in various formats other than DVD, etc. What will this mean for the Corman Library, God only knows.

Like I said above, Roger Corman doesn't have the rights to the movies MST3k did! The rights to IT CONQUERED THE WORLD are with Susan Hart-Hofheinz. TEENAGE CAVEMAN and VIKING WOMEN VS. THE SEA SERPENT are owned by the Arkoff Estate (currently being lisenced to Lionsgate). ATTACK OF THE GIANT LEECHES and SWAMP WOMEN are public domain GUNSLINGER has already been lisenced out the Rhino, so no problem there. NIGHT OF THE BLOOD BEAST has been assumed public domain, but the copyright claiment is "Rivival Pictures". Again, not Corman. THE UNDEAD is owned by the Arkoff Estate. See? No problem. **Note**: The rights to the Nicholson/Arkoff AIP movies are split between Susan Hart-Hofheinz (the widow of James Nicholson) and the Arkoff Estate. THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN & I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF are also controlled by Susan Hart. eek! TERROR IN THE YEAR 5000 & THE SHE CREATURE are controlled by the Arkoff Estate. While it would seem all of the Arkoff-owned AIP titles are being lisenced to LionsGate, I'd say there's a much more possible chance of seeing those from Rhino than the ones controlled by Susan Hart.

Sounds like that "Liklihood for Rhino Releases" thread may need to be updated a little.

I bought Caged Heat, Death Race 2000 and the Big Doll House at Best Buy for $9 each, so the deal with Disney is pretty cool in my book. They also just put out Rock n' Roll High School too, but I already own it...

Odd. One of Satan's minions working for Nazi Mouse.
But I kid Roger Corman. Might not be so bad. I'll remain optimistic.

I have a very stupid question...is Susan Hart the same one who was in "The Slime People"? Just wondering...I mean, same name 'n' all...
As for what the Corman/Disney deal means for us MSTies...I'm clinging on tight to my taped-off-TV versions of those episodes, just in case. (hugs them)
...Notorious

You mean like Beginning of the End? This story is confusing, however. Since when is it impossible to get a Corman movie on DVD? Rock 'n' Roll High School just came out, The Insider has been out for ages, every cheap DVD company has a version of The Terror or The Little Shop of Horrors in it's catalog....and then there's all the ones that have been mentioned before... So what the hell is left besides maybe Death Race 2000 and Transylvania Twist?

I think the problem, though, is that Corman's "oeuvre" is too farspread with so many different distribution venues. Disney knows how to extend to markets that the current companies might not be able to reach, and might be able to market them better (so we may be on "final call" for everyone who wants the 99 cent DVDs of these films from Alco).

So instead of now reaching the people who are into bad movies (who will buy them in bunches at the prices they are now) they're going to try to market them to the average person at a higher price? Will there be an Eat My Dust! ride at Disney World? How's Chicken Little doing, btw? God, I hate Disney.

I don't like the people who own Disney, but a few of the creative people there are okay in my book.
