Two DVDs being released on April 18th. Good news is they're cheap. Bad news of course is they're not being released MSTied. Raising the question again - do good sales of these mean they'll never be released on Rhino? Or just the opposite?

my guess is the opposite.
as in--why would the reiusse them as MST and share the profits with others when they're profitable on their own.
Weak sales of this sort of thing are key to seeing them on MST eventually.

I doubt it has any effect at all.

Doesn't matter. It's up to the Arkoff Estate on whether or not they'd let Rhino lisence those movies. The deal with Lionsgate would probably prevent them having the UnMSTed versions as extras.
We already know Susan Hart's portion of the Nicolson/Arkoff AIP titles aren't going anywhere, so the Arkoff Estate titles are probably more likely (which isn't saying much).

Raising the question again - do good sales of these mean they'll never be released on Rhino? Or just the opposite? I have "She Creature" and "Day the World Ended" on VHS and it's pretty worn. This news just made my day! I'm glad that they are the original versions since I have one of the two on MST3K already.

I think seeing a MSTed movie in its original form can be interesting and fun. Depends on the movie really. Like with This Island Earth, I had fun seeing the unriffed version. Although with Eegah, I was nearly killed. I just couldn't finish the movie without J&TB,

Another release today Horror of Party Beach with another movie called The Curse of the Living Corpse (Larry King?). Also nice and cheap and seemingly restored....but un-MSTied.

Curse of the Living Corpse is 1964 Gothic ala Hammer. It's actually kind of fun. (It features Roy Scheider.)
The REAL Horror of Party Beach (of course!) is Cindy's spinach dip.

Another release that might interest you all.... Science Fiction Cliffhangers. It contains "Undersea Kingdom" and "Radar Men From the Moon" along with "The Phantom Empire" which I believe stars Gene Autry.
