I went last weekend to a "Saturday Matinee (A movie store in a mall)" and asked them about MST3000 the movie. They said that the movie was out of production , like that the movie wasn't selling, so they stop making copies of it, and quit selling it. I don't know if that is just for thier store, or any where else , if so then where else could I find this movie, I want it so bad.

Actually it's some stupid lawsuit between Universal and Image about what they were charging for the DVDs. So MST3K: The Movie, This Island Earth and several other titles have been off the market ever since. There are ways to get them both but....<insert pirate smilie here>

oh ok, well I might just get a VHS copy on Ebay. At least from Amazon you'll know it's sealed from the factory....

So they can sell VHS and not DVD? It used to be shown on digital cable all the time don't know if it still is.

So they can sell VHS and not DVD? Because they contracted the production rights for VHS to another company and didn't get pissed at them... Why production has to be cut off for years....? The whole thing is stupid. Especially if the reason for the lawsuit is what I heard.

oh ok, well I might just get a VHS copy on Ebay. There's one right now going for $5.00. They'll probably make their money on the shipping. And I just looked at Amazon and it turns out that that's out of print, too. But they have "sellers" offering copies that start at $15. It's so stupid.

Rebel, you should see what they're asking for the out of print Mario Bava titles!

It doesn't say where you can buy it or if it's NTSC or PAL.

"There's one right now going for $5.00. " Yeah, I'm going to try and get that one, and they only have DVD's on Amazon, and they are $134.98, they don't have VHS copies.

It doesn't say where you can buy it or if it's NTSC or PAL. You can buy it from www.amazon.de and I believe it's a PAL transfer. It is non-anamorphic but does include the original film. Its about $23 before shipping

Last time it aired on the Sundance Channel, I copied the movie onto DVD+R (in widescreen, too!) I'm surprised that people would pay such outrageous prices for Universal's bare-bones release. If it had any valuable extras on it, sure, but a bare-bones release going for $215? If Universal had any sense, they'd put out a real DVD release of this great title (and This Island Earth, too), but since they don't....
