No thoughts? Okay. I thought it was interesting that the commentators didn't care for Final Sacrifice AT ALL - even though it's overated, most MSTies seem to enjoy it. Edit: spelling error

I just got around to listening. It's fun enough. Their tastes are almost completely contrary to mine, though. I find their "funniest" list to be rather vanilla. The Gordon films are fine, solid, and never make any such list I'd make. On the other hand, I would put Red Zone Cuba and Manos on such a list. Skydivers and Sidehackers are two I would also consider. Vive la difference, though.

I haven't listened to this yet. My first experience with podcasting is The Residents' River of Crime, which may be the wave of the future.
You buy the CD-R, with slipcase and artwork. When the title becomes available, you download it and burn it yourself.

Not trying to be negative here but I found the whole podcast kind of 'ehh'.
I really liked the interview with Jim Mallon by Rhino, though. That was A++++

Yawn. Well, I shouldn't be so mean... Kind of fun to listen to, but no new information for hardcore fans to find here. 2 things that irritated me were their frequent use (and I think mis-use) of the word/term "MSTie" and the fact that they didn't know or get the whole Minnesota connection with the show. They even mentioned KTMA but then kind of flubbed later when they were talking about a sketch with Crow from "Beginning Of The End." And as mentioned earlier in the thread, their recommendations and "most hated films" were questionable, but that's what makes the show (and this board) fun, hearing people's opinions about the episodes and movies.
They seem like 2 very nice people, I wish them luck with the program!

Nothing new. I too found it a mediocre podcast, though they did try. All in all it's probably worth more to people who know nothing about the show, but the Rhino Podcast with Jim Mallon was a hell of a lot better (and probably a lot more accurate to historical things). What really bugged me though was their comparrison of MST3K to the Rocky Horror crowd. Yes, there are similarities between the two, but I don't think MST3K "owes" anything to the RH stage show. MST wasn't "celebrating" the movies the way RH was. But, of course, that's just my oppinion. And don't tell Kevin Murphy someone likened MST3K to the Rocky Horror show. Bad idea.

I'd hazard a guess fewer of us would turn up to a public showing of an episode dressed as one of the characters, though. It's a whole different kettle of fish.

I really didn't get that either. Although, I'm speaking from a position of indirect ignorance here. I've never experienced Rocky Horror, in a theater or at home (never seen it). MST3K owes much more to those late night "Creature Feature" shows with a weirdo host than it does anything else.

I think the mention of Rocky Horror was just to point out another example of people talking back to the screen. I don't think they were saying the fans are that similar.
What did annoy me a little was that the hosts had only seen the Sci-Fi episodes, except for a couple of Rhino CC episodes. And since they made a list of the best and worst episodes, they should have pointed out more than once that they've only seen a limited number of episodes. But then, people on this forum vote on "Best Episode" threads all the time without having seen the CC episodes, so I guess we're used to it.

I have the reverse problem of never having seen all of the Sci-Fi ep's, having seen only (all of) the CC ep's. If I'm ever discussing seasons 8 through 10 I generally point out that I haven't seen all of those.

I enjoyed it. They sounded like pretty sincere fans of the show. I thought they made some fairly humorous comments and although I agree hardcore fans have already thought or said pretty much everything they said I was glad to hear our favorite show get a little more publicity.

I appreciated that they truely liked the show, but I certainly wouldn't classify them as expert enough to carry an entire show by themselves. To qualify as an even basic authority on the show, I think a person needs to at least have seen every episode -- especially the KTMAs. Even then it would be good to try to get at least one Best Brainer on the show.
