Barnes and Noble, at least the store in Topeka, KS, is having a great sale on TV shows on DVD. It's buy one, get one free. I was able to find volume 10 (!!!) and 7. So, I spent $60 on two of the box sets. If I remember correctly, the sale lasts until Jan. 31.

True. I have been reading about this for a while and considered picking up a couple since it shakes out to about $30 a set and you get can them for like $28 and change at DDD but have to wait for shipping PLUS (and this is the important thing) DDD now no longer stocks several volumes and I need to get a hold of some stuff before it goes OOP. By the way, this offer is good online but only for select sets and MST3K is not one of them. In store it's EVERY TV show set over $29.99. People are getting discounts in addition to the B1G1 deal that stack with this deal. You can check out more here if interested: forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=488340

I saw that. But....
1) Barnes and Noble is Full Retail Price. Sometimes you'll save (like if you need certain seasons to complete your ST:TNG set, you'd do okay). But most of them you'll end up paying pretty much what you would if you buy them online - only without the deadline.
2) The Barnes and Noble closest to me has no MST3K sets - only singles.
I realize that this won't be the same all over.

Thanks for the tip! I made the hike to my local Barnes and Noble in Augusta, ME and snagged me a copy of Volume 10. What a glorious thing just to hold it in my hands. The wife had a knot in her stomach over the price, but that seemed to be relieved somewhat once she got season 4 of Lois and Clark for free. Now to find a way to get those other collections still on the chopping block. I hope there aren't others on the road to being discontinued soon.
