I checked my local Best Buy yesterday, and not only did they not have Vol. 9, they didn't have a single MST3K collection on the shelf. That's the first time I've ever seen that. I haven't seen MST3K in my local Best Buys since volume 8. Volume 9 and 10 I got from Circuit City.

FWIW, kid at Best Buy told me they weren't carrying MST3K anymore when I was out looking for Vol. 9. Like not even in the system, don't bother asking sort of deal. Also, just thinking out loud here, but knowing that Rhino is changing distributorship from WEA to Ryko makes me a lot less worried about the future of Vol. 9. It could be possible that they sold off existing stock and aren't repressing until they are under their new wing. Just my 2 cents, but until I hear for certain this one is not coming back, I'm not sweating it. EDIT: Vol 9 is listed on Ryko's site: www.rykodistribution.com/artist_title.php?artist_id=12764&media_id=19684So's Vol. 10. No Beginning of the End, so it's not just a list of everything Rhino. Don't know if that means anything, but I just thought it interesting.

Ryko also lists Volume 11. The blurb is sick and wrong. Like a dominatrix to a faithful clientele, we present you with four more episodes of sharp and joyfully painful lunacy aboard the Satellite of Love. Laugh, groan, writhe and laugh again with Joel, Mike, Tom Servo and Crow as they deliver jokes and judgment on cinema's difficult children. Your safe word? There is no safe word. Is it going to say that on the package? Blech.

It's a bit groan-worthy in itself, but I'd say that's a fairly accurate blurb. I've got to be a masochist, considering how often I inflict Coleman Francis upon myself.

My area is all sold out, so if anyone sees a spare copy and has cash, I'd be more then willing to pay for shipping, plus a little extra for the trouble.
I'm panicking... I must get this and Volume 10...

Wow, you must have one hell of an area. Sorry. I couldn't resist.

Another update, just because. I got a suprize call from Borders yesterday. Kudos to them that they keep trying to get this set for me. I talked to the person on the phone for a bit and she said the only sets they had available at the moment from the distributor were 1, 3 and 6. However, she said they hadn't been marked as out of print or anything and told me I should try again in a month or two.
So, take that for what it's worth. Pick up a copy if you can find it, but I wouldn't pay eBay prices just yet. It doesn't sound like all is quite lost.

Also, just thinking out loud here, but knowing that Rhino is changing distributorship from WEA to Ryko makes me a lot less worried about the future of Vol. 9. Changing to Ryko who is owned by Warner Music Group. How about they spend less time reshuffling and more time releasing!
