I don't know how many of you are in my neck of the woods, but I thought I would give the heads up anyway. Starting this Thursday and going on until May 2nd, the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood is hosting Noir City, a double feature film festival tribute to 40s-50s crime capers and psychological dramas. As if that isn't great enough, the icing on the cake is that I just realized yesterday that Kim "Young Mala" Hamilton, Coleen Gray (!!!), Leonard "Two & A Half Stars" Maltin and Peggy Webber ( The Screaming Skull and The Space Children) will be hosting the festivities and have discussions with the audience on certain nights. Kim w/ Armored Car Robbery (starring Adele Jergens from Radar Secret Service and Steve Brodie from The Wild World Of Batwoman) and Odds Against Tomorrow this Friday night (13th) Leonard w/ He Walked By Night (Richard Basehart as the antagonist lead and featuring Whit Bissell of The Lost Continent and I Was A Teenage Werewolf) and The Killer That Stalked New York on the 22nd (Sunday) Coleen w/ The Killing and The Sleeping City on the 25th (Wednesday) Peggy w/ The Wrong Man and Shockproof on the 28th (Saturday) They are showing other rare, long out of print films starring such MSTed alumni as Glenn Corbett, Jack Palance and Ernest Borgnine as well. General admission is $10. Students with IDs pay $8. It looks like they all start at 7:30PM. egyptiantheatre.com/archive1999/2007/Film_Noir_LAvsNY_2007.htm
