I love this place. Anyway, I just realized what these cartoons kinda remind me of - anyone ever read the "MST Adventures" series? It's a bunch of little fanfics where Joel, Mike, and the Bots, following a series of bizarre plot contrivances, end up going on kooky adventures through space, then eventually time, and there's no movie riffing or even fanfic riffing, and it's not terrible, it's just...not MST3K. Anyway, this kinda reminds me of that. At least we can be fairly sure that this toon, unlike "MST Adventures", won't have an episode where the gang find themselves in Ancient Israel and Joel, Dr. F, and Frank end up standing in for the Three Wise Men (who were gunned down by a time-traveling villain) and witness the birth of Christ while the Bots face off against said time-traveling villain and save Christmas. No, I didn't make that up. Your post just made me have a flashback. I think I read one of those fanfics several years ago when I was in college. It had a weird storyline where the SOL characters (both human and robot) somehow crash landed in the lake from Ranma 1/2 and turned into girls. Even Cambot turned into a girl and gained the ability to speak. Magic Voice survived the crash and was some kind of talking box they carried around. Not kidding. The time traveling villain you mentioned might have been in it. I'm afraid I never read the Christmas episode, but you've peaked my curiosity.

I haven't followed all of this thread so maybe this has been answered but within the "mythos" of the show when are these animated things supposed to be taking place? I mean the SOL crashed as the show ended and Mike and the Bots were living in an apartment. So is there any attempt to place these things in the context of the show lineage?

@ford Prefect: Oh yeah, you can still find all the stories at this website: www.emiofbrie.com/mstadventures/index.htmlI never got around to checking out the "Ranma 1/2" storyline myself, but even after what you've told me about it, I'm still pretty sure the Christmas episode has a greater "WTF" quality. It's in Season Two if you're curious (yes, they have seasons XD ) and there's a Msting of the episode further down the homepage (the author has a bunch of Mstings of her work posted there, so she's a good sport about it, anyway). @captain Hygiene: It WOULD be awesome, in an "awesome train wreck" way. ;D @phantom Engineer: I think it's supposed take place either during the Joel or Mike era, you just never see any humans. And uhhh...the Bots talk in different voices when they think nobody's looking. Yeah.

I just noticed they have some "Legacy" merchandise in the store now.
Why does it cost $6.79 to ship a $12 Play MSTie For Me DVD? Much less a $2.00 Static decal (which makes it an $8.79 decal). And that's UPS Ground.
The only other option is the Next-Day which would make it a $48.25 decal or a $60.25 DVD!

Jokes about the weather? Hilarity!
This episode was bad but it feels like falling down the stairs and landing on the World's Largest Cactus.

You can "Select a Carrier" - choose "other carrier", and you'll be able to get shipping for under $3.00 on your DVD purchase with good old fashioned Post Office delivery. When I ordered my Planet Logo shirt, I found that little option, and dropped my shipping to less than $2 using USPS First Class shipping.

Anyone else get their postcard in the mail announcing MST3K.COM with the legend "RE-JOIN US?" Good news - they kept our old member numbers.

"Fells Like" just flat out sucked. TOO MUCH TALKING! No plot whatsoever. It's like watching a bad Sunday Comic Strip with no bubbles, and actual heard speech.
I do kinda like how Servo's new voice actor is trying to imulate Josh, rather than Kevin. Trying to copy Kevin would have been a big mistake. Josh is easier to copy.

I really can't comment on the content, I only watched the first one out of sheer curiosity. I'm just not a fan of that type of entertainment. Web-only episodes of TV shows, cartoons, whatever. I prefer a different medium.
I do hope for some nice treats to someday show up in the store, things that we cannot see or get our hands on anywhere else, things that would be treasured (like high quality KTMA episodes, especially the first four). I'm not holding my breath though.

It's nice to see they're slowly putting the "legacy" stuff in the store.
I doubt there'll be exclusive eps (especially KTMA) but come on, they've gotta put more of their old VHS stuff on DVD. Last Dance, Favorite Host Segment 2-5, Shorts 3, Scrapbook, etc.
Also, yeah, the bots have to riff something. It's not MST3K otherwise. Public domain stuff is all over, like at archive.org. Shorts perhaps. Maybe cartoons, to match the now toon 'bots. Then these host segment-ish "events" can just be written around parodying the shorts.

anyone ever read the "MST Adventures" gasp Yes! I remember when the Sci-Fi host segment plots started getting weird, I referenced these. It's like they read them and went "hmm, we gave him no permission to use these characters and it's not published, so... YOINK!" Seriously, there's a time-travelling castle at one point.
