You can say that...again? It's like a mobius strip. Impressive. Well, that was weird. Didn't look like that when I posted it. Oh, well, it's fixed.

Looked like a little cut-'n-paste overlap.

Nope. And I always pre-read my messages before posting. Oh, well, this isn't the first time my computer has scrambled text.

Don't include me in that post. Shad: I hope we hear more from you, but I'm sure everyone understands if we don't. Same here. Ibid. Spriiings, don't bite the hand that feeds you. So the cartoons aren't the best right now. Nobody's forcing you to watch anything. Ease up, dude.

From Shad (a.k.a. PUNY a.k.a. JIM MALLON) "Plus they have to be fairly easy to animate, Jim wants to keep the episodes coming despite no network $$." Oh right, because he's dirt poor. I keep forgetting. It's not like he makes a ton of coin off the MST3K DVDs. In fact, isn't he about the ONLY ONE who makes money off the MST3K DVDs? (Seeing as how he screwed the rest of the cast – you know, the same rest of the cast who now loath him and who unanimously decided NOT to be involved in this all new MST3K money-making greedy venture (minus just about all of the MST3K)! Oh, that's right… silly me, they weren't ASKED to be a part of this new greedy venture. Maybe that's because Mr. Jim knew they would all collectively SPIT in his face! Is anyone else who used to go to the old SCI-FI MST board getting a bad sense of deja-vu? I seriously doubt that Jim is unbelievably rich because of the MST3K DVD releases. We are talking about the semi-obscure cult show that got canceled in 1999 and hasn't aired on TV at all in four years right? You can't even find the Rhino releases in most brick and mortar stores. They can't officially release all the episodes without going through rights negotiations where I assume the film's copyright owners get some profit. Joel makes money off the DVDs, as well as anybody on Jim's payroll at BBI like Paul Chaplin. I guess he doesn't count in the group who "unanimously decided NOT to be involved". As far as "money-making greedy ventures" go, I'm not really sure just how much Jim's making off these little toons since he's not charging us anything for them. These first two weren't unbelievably amazing, but I suppose we get what we pay for.

I personally have no idea how much Jim makes off of the DVD's, but I know the Brains don't get any of it. In the same vein, the Brains signed contracts relinquishing that aspect. I still tack back and forth across that fjord, and sometimes still weigh in with a pithy jab against the Mallon camp occasionally, but I hope that it doesn't come across as malice.

Malice for Mallon is misplaced.

Misplaced Mallon malice means misunderstood meanings made muddled, muddied, mysterious, mind-numbing.

To spriiings and other angry posters in this thread, a helpful reminder:
Many of you are new and you may not know the cardinal rule of this board:
All opinions are welcome, all tones are not.
Okay, so I just made that up.
But while we Admins & Mods make it a point not to moderate opinions here, we do moderate tone (unlike the old Sci-Fi board and other places on the Information Superweb).
Plus, your opinion will be much more convincing if you can express it without sounding like that one vein in your forehead is swelled and ready to burst.

I love this place. Anyway, I just realized what these cartoons kinda remind me of - anyone ever read the "MST Adventures" series? It's a bunch of little fanfics where Joel, Mike, and the Bots, following a series of bizzare plot contrivances, end up going on kooky adventures through space, then eventually time, and there's no movie riffing or even fanfic riffing, and it's not terrible, it's just...not MST3K. Anyway, this kinda reminds me of that. At least we can be fairly sure that this toon, unlike "MST Adventures", won't have an episode where the gang find themselves in Ancient Israel and Joel, Dr. F, and Frank end up standing in for the Three Wise Men (who were gunned down by a time-travelling villian) and witness the birth of Christ while the Bots face off against said time-traveling villian and save Christmas. No, I didn't make that up.
