I thought it showed bitterness and lack of love in one's life. Yeah, because having to pay an extra $60 for one episode of a TV show is totally worth it. That's not love, that's obsession.

No, I meant insulting people. I do apologize for my ambiguity.

Oh, you mean like comparing someone on the board to someone else viewed in an unfavorable light? Yeah, like it or not, your friend did insult someone. Of course, I don't expect you to understand this in the slightest because after all, he is your friend.. not to mention a mod. And mods can do no wrong.

You can buy the single episode without having to get the whole set. The way I see it, it's a win-win situation for all the fans. Those who missed getting Vol. 10 can have the other three episodes, and for those who got Vol 10, they can buy the single disk. And if it's too much money, there's always places like Netflix where you can rent. Just because people don't agree with you doesn't mean that they're wrong. everyone is entitled to an opinion and is free to express their opinion.

Yeah, and thanks for the link to www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1738.txt via your PM. Very cute. I never said I hadn't insulted someone before. Point out where I said that and I'll gladly shut my mouth (or silence my fingers, as it is). I was insulted by the fact that someone would so gladly sell everyone else down the river, effectively causing Rhino to say "hey, we can screw with these people and they'll still pay". It has happened with record companies for years. Roadrunner is most guilty of this, releasing an album and then 6 months later, an extended edition. Why do they continue to get away with it? Because people like Dr. Henry allow it to happen - and that, my dear, is a huge insult to the rest of us. However, this case is slightly different due to the fact that initially, Rhino had stated that they had NO PLANS to release GGM as a single disc episode. My current issue is with people with worthless titles acting as if it is their right to insult people, yet when a normal member engages in such practices, they are given a tongue-lashing. I'm glad that this title gives you some sense of empowerment and the ability to justify your actions by stating that "it was only a joke". There's a thread for that sort of thing and you may have heard of it: it's called the "person above me thread". However, even then, YOU of all people chose to get butt-hurt about it. Someone else contacted me and said that they were upset about what I had said in that thread, so I apologized. Why? Because it was the right thing to do.

The fact that you've insulted people that you don't know shows that you are not familiar with the tone of this board. Having been here such a short time, your insults are not seen as tongue in cheek and are taken at face value. Those who've been around a long time know each other and know when one is kidding and when one is not. And just for the record, the thread you referenced for insults is not, in fact, for insults. Learn the etiquette of the board before you start insulting members and calling out staff members.

Someone who has, in fact, been here a shorter time than I have and does not know the people giving her crap? I will call anyone out, regardless of their standing here or anywhere else. I am known as a person who will voice his opinion, and not simply on a message board where it is deemed "okay" to insult someone if you've wasted years of your life posting upon it. It's one thing to pass the time and interact with people now and then.. hell, it's even okay if you want to spend all of your free time here. What you do with your life is your business, but I'll be damned if I'm going to be made out to look like the bad guy because I "dared" to call someone out for their hypocrisy. You all want to say things like "this is a family board", which is true if your family is dysfunctional. You folks need to huddle up and decide what is and isn't okay for the board, not simply to have rules which apply to some and not others. If you want to have a message board which is molded upon the real world and is unbelievably corrupt, then so be it... but let it be known that I expect better out of you than that.

I am sorry for derailing this thread. This pissing contest between siamesesin and I should have been handled in a more mature manner and via PM. I would also like to apologize to Dr. Henry for being a jerk. Sometimes, when I'm passionate about a subject, I can forget that people have feelings and I did go a little overboard in the descriptive mockery of how I viewed his handling of the matter.
Now can we please get back to being excited about the fact that ALL of us will have the opportunity to enjoy a professionally-pressed copy of a hilarious episode without having to fork over more of our hard-earned cash?

It's unfortunate that a fairly obvious joke was missed, but it does happen. That being said, this board operates as it does because people are civil to one another most of the time and those that are not don't last long (calling people out is never a good idea, no matter the context). I expect this to be the last post regarding this issue - I will delete any further posts. And now, back to the topic at hand.

So then, when will it be avaliable? With the other box set early next year or earlier? Or is it already being distributed and I should have already gotten off my keister?

Ok, now that we know the single disc is coming, we can speculate on the price of said disc for 2 months. So.. What's your guess? I'm expecting something like $17.99

I predict $14.99, which is criminal (when you factor in shipping) but what are ya gonna do? I hate buying direct. I mean, I can pick up single disc releases for $13 total, elsewhere. Oh well.

I was thinking that the earlier single discs were MSRPd at about the price Hugh listed. A lot (IMO) for what you're getting, but not at all unheard of.
