Did you know that at one time during MST3K'S history there was a possibility the show would switch from ruiffing films to riffing sitcoms. Oh it's true . Direct from the fabulous show history page at Satellite News. In mid-February, a CC vice president flew to Minneapolis and met with BBI to make a "proposal." As it was later revealed, the proposal was that Mike and the Bots shift from watching movies to watching old sitcoms. A few weeks later, BBI offered a counter-proposal, the details of which were not made public. So for the purposes of this game, let's pretend that MST3K now riffed TV. Well the episodes still need stingers and Tv shows have [plenty of stinger worthy moments as movies. It's pretty much the same as the UnMSTied movie stinge thread. All i suggested is if you can try to include the name of the episode the stinger is from as well as the show, and if you can provide an episode number, that's even better. I'll kick things off with a few . Farscape. Crackers Don't Matter *Crichton is dressed up in his outfit to go and fight Traltix. He draws the Qualta Blade as Flight of the Valkaryes plays. Aryen and the other aliens are watching* Aryen:"We are going to die" Crichton: "Humans are superior" Premiere Crichton:'WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU PEOPLE" *gets zapped by Dargo's tounge* Unrealized Reality Crichton:"Damm, gotta stop shooting guns at people or get a bigger gun" Revenging Angel John: "You're very wise." Pilot: "I don't get out much, so I read." I gotta get going but i'll pop back in and come up with some more from other shows later.

Ok Now i've got some time and i'll b abel to post a slathering of great Babylon 5 Stingers. I'll go seaosn by season, starting with season three since it's my favorite. I did my best to avoid dialouge with spoilers but here mya be a few minor ones here and there. I think i did pretty good on that reguards.
301-Matters Of Honor
"They missed!? They never miss!"
-- Delenn to Sheridan in Babylon 5:"Matters of Honor"
303-A Day In The Strife
"I don't want to get killed because of a typo, it would be embarrassing."
-- Ivanova in Babylon 5:"A Day in the Strife"
"Always finding good in every situation, Captain?" "Absolutely. If I didn't, I might end up like you." -- Ivanova and Sheridan in Babylon 5:"A Day in the Strife"(there's actually more Ivanova Dialouge, but i think it would be funnier if the stinger ended with her facial reaction)
305 "Good luck, Captain. I think you are about to go where everyone has gone before."
-- Ivanova to Sheridan in Babylon 5:"Voices of Authority"
306-Dust To Dust
"I'm here to save your butts. Next time, show a little gratitude."
-- Bester in Babylon 5:"Dust to Dust"
"Who are you?" "I am .. who I have always been."
-- G'Kar and 'his father' in Babylon 5:"Dust to Dust"
"Why now? Why not earlier? All this time, where have you been?" "I have always been here."
-- G'Kar and Narn Image in Babylon 5:"Dust to Dust"
308-Messages From Earth
"In Valen's name. It's awake."
-- Delenn in Babylon 5:"Messages from Earth"
310-Severed Dreams
"I told you, Delenn, they will not speak to you." "Then they will listen to me. I served the Council for 16 cycles. I was the chosen of Dukhat to replace him. I held him when he died. His blood is on my hands, his spirit in my eyes, his word on my lips. You will step aside in his name and mine, or .. in Valen's name, I will tear this ship apart with my bare hands until I find them. Move aside." -- Minbari and Delenn in Babylon 5:"Severed Dreams"
(I know this is MUCH longer than stingers usually are, but it's such a great piece of dalouge that i think it would be ok)
"Only one human captain has ever survived battle with a Minbari fleet. He is behind me. You are in front of me. If you value your lives, be somewhere else."
--Delenn
311-Ceremonies of light and dark
"Oh bugger, now I have to wait for someone to wake up."
-- Marcus in Babylon 5:"Ceremonies of Light and Dark"
313-A late delivery from Avalon
"But this is the post office. This could get us in real trouble."
-- A Sec.Guard to Garibaldi in Babylon 5:"A Late Delivery from Avalon"
"I will vouch for his character! I saw the entire thing .. because I was there. I was in it. I was .. And they made a very agreeable thump. Or did I mention that?"
-- G'Kar to Marcus in Babylon 5:"A Late Delivery from Avalon"
315-Interludes and examinations
"You do not understand. But you will."
-Kosh
"No, no. Don't leave." "It's all right, son. See, as long as you're here, I'll always be here."
-- Sheridan to his 'father' in Babylon 5:"Interludes and Examinations"
317-War without end part #2
"Come on, find what you need and lets get away from here. We are running out of time." "Can not run out of time, there is infinite time. You are finite, Zathras is finite. This is wrong tool
-- Zathras and Ivanova in Babylon 5:"War Without End #2"
320-And the rock cried out, no hiding place
"I live only to serve."
-- Londo in Babylon 5:"And the Rock Cried Out, No Hiding Place"
"Make sure this is found on his body. Leave his face and head intact. They will be needed later for identification. The rest is yours."
-- G'Kar in Babylon 5:"And the Rock Cried Out, No Hiding Place"
322-Z''Ha'Dum
"Jump. Jump, now!"
-- Kosh to Sheridan in Babylon 5:"Z'ha'dum"

Whoo-hoo, Babylon 5 stuff! But, um...aren't stingers supposed to be especially _stupid_ or goofy moments, not GOOD dialogue? That one about "Now move aside, or I shall tear this ship apart with my very hands" etc. bit is _way_ too serious and emotional to be a stinger. I mean, in a good way. Unlike the stinger for "It Conquered the World", which was _supposed_ to be an impassioned, philosophical speech but just came across as corny and annoyingly preachy...
Anyway.
...Notorious

Anyway. ...Notorious I guess i did go a little overboard with the B5 stuff. But i think a stinger dosen't allways have to be wierd. While it's true they usually choose the oddesnt moment from the film, when you're useing tv you have less air time to work with. I admit some of the stuff i picked upon retrospect may not be as good as i thought it was, but i still stand by... "But this is the post office. This could get us in real trouble."
-- A Sec.Guard to Garibaldi in Babylon 5:"A Late Delivery from Avalon" and "I don't want to get killed because of a typo, it would be embarrassing."
-- Ivanova in Babylon 5:"A Day in the Strife" would make excellent B5 stinger. Not so much for all the Kosh stuff i origonally posted. And to keep the thread going, here's one from the LOST pilot right after Sawyer kills the polar bear Kate:"Where did he come from?" Sawyer:"Bear Village? Howt the hell should i know?"

Babylon 5
"I don't watch TV. It's a cultural wasteland filled with inappropriate metaphors and an unrealistic portrayal of life created by the liberal media elite."
-- Guard to Garibaldi in Babylon 5:"Between the Darkness and the Light"
LOST, Pilot
Charlie :"Guys, where are we?" Charlie:"It's the friench, i've never been more happy to hear the french"
And the scene in walkabout where Locke sees the "monster"
