How do the Administrators choose new moderators? I would like to be considered for the privilege. If my posts are researched, I think I have shown that I have the skills. Not to mention the tact needed to be a Mod. Also, I have a thorough knowledge of the series and it's creators, performers, and in general, am a fanatic. I have the board set as my homepage (at home and work). I spend more time here than I do anywhere other than the "non-virtual" world. Please consider me. I would like to help noobs and in general be an asset in the form of a researcher. When someone needs help with their MST information, I want to be the "goto man".
**Also, I beat both skyronitor and Phantom to this board. <snicker>
*** I love to point that fact out.
The Admins. could even create a board: Ask Crowjunkie (just a suggestion)
It could help streamline other threads by eliminating them from other sections of the board.
I was going to reply, but this thread is apparently locked. Thank you for the information Mr. Atari. I may not post as often as others, but I am on the board more often than not. I thought I would give this request a try.

Since this question comes up from time to time, and because this is a good board and thread to post this, I'll give you the real answer.
There are a few criteria that are unofficially considered before anyone is promoted:
1- Do we need any more mods? (The answer to this is rarely "yes".) 2- Does the person have a history of courtesy, helpfulness, and an overall friendly tone on the board? 3- Have they been consistent posters, or are they flaky in their involvement? 4- Do they know the show? (We are a MST board, after all.) 5- Do they represent or "get" the personality of the board?
And number 6, which really is the only one that counts: Does Forrest want to promote them?
Forrest is the only person who can promote anyone, so it's ultimately at his discretion.
Now that Forrest has passed on executive power to myself and mummi, I suppose we have the final say. But since I'm pro-democracy at heart, it won't happen without consensus of the current Modmins.
And now, I'm sure others will chime in with fake, sarcastic answers for you.

Oh, goodie! Looks like my misgivings were for naught. So, uh... ...nah, I'll just let the legitimate answer stand.

...nah, I'll just let the legitimate answer stand. Well I won't. Write a ten page essay!

I thought I would give this request a try. This forum is a mod reply only zone, so regular members can ask questions, but they can't post anything beyond the original post. Stupid, I know, but I just work here.
