Hello, new guy here, I have only in the last month or so reconnected after a on/off relationship with MST3K during the Sci-Fi years. and thought that doing a quickie review of some of the latest films I have received through online rental would be cool, so here we go
Season 10- Hamlet
The Movie: While I have never been a big fan of Hamlet I do think that their are some good things here and their about the play, as for this film while how do you say BORING! I know its Hamlet but couldnt they of lightened up the set a little bit, it really hurts when the clowns come on to do their bit later in the film. Also these actors really like to stare dont they yeesh, awful film of an awfully overrated play.
The Movie with MST3K: While I did laugh at a few things here and their the riffing was very sparse and I think they could have really torn this film apart a little better considering how well known it is, dissapointment here guys
The host segments: This is what nearly saved the ep for me. I loved the 3 card monte bit at the beginning, I cant believe Nelson didnt just say Animal House, what a dum dum. The ghost thing was a funny idea but they should have tried to go more with the strange coat the ghost was wearing in the film. The 2nd host segment did nothing for me. I really liked the alas poor game they played though. End segment was okay with the Hamlet pull string doll, not awful not great.
Overall: Noble effort to take on Hamlet but alas poor MST3K you just couldnt nail it. Thanks to the mostly solid host segments and difficulty of the material at hand I'll give you a C-, you guys passed by a hair.
