I just watched Clerks last night and to to wondering. Plus the brand new Movies Sub-board can use another director to talk about.

Easy choice for me. Dogma by far. I've always thought that one was head and shoulders above the other films he's done. I like all of his movies but that's one that I'll never get sick of.
By the way for any of you who are fans of Kevin Smith I would highly recommend getting the "An Evening With Kevin Smith" DVD set. It's a two disc set that is basically him touring colleges and speaking to students. He tells some very funny stories on there and his story about working with Minneapolis own Prince is worth the price of the DVD alone.

I seen that he's currently working on a Clerks sequel titled "The Passion of the Clerks". I'm pretty excited.

Clerks = Mallrats > Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back > Jersey Girl > Chasing Amy..................................> Dogma
Yeah, I'm atheist and should love Dogma. But I don't. Hate it. Clerks and Mallrats really tie for me, both are so fabulous. JSBSB was killer because of all the refs, I love stuff like that. Chasing Amy I actually didn't like when it came out, and I watched it again in the last year and have to say I enjoy it. I have (signed) Clerks X, and will get Mallrats X when it comes out. Looking very forward to Clerks 2, love the idea. The animated series left something to be desired (but I still have it).
And like Melting Manos said, and Evening with Kevin Smith is fantastic. I also have the book on the way.

I'm a huge fan of the whole View Askewniverse (that doesn't include Jersey Girl, animated Clerks, or Mae Day), but I'd have to say Clerks. was the most innovative (oh, and by the way, "Clerks." has a period. ) Though I'd actually put Chasing Amy at the bottom-- oh sure, sometimes it was a little tear-jerking, but mostly it just came off as a pretentious attempt to pretend to be a drama writer as well as comedy. (not that I don't have it in my collection or that I won't watch it again.) In In Stereo Stereo "I'm not even supposed to be here today!"

I like them all. Why did the cartoon get left out? That's pretty fun.

Kevin never really did it for me. I remember seeing Clerks when it first came out on video and it left me with a big "meh".
I liked some of Dogma. What I didn't like didn't have anything to do with my beliefs. I just thought there were some pretty weak spots in the film.
So I'm with Ratso. None of the above.

I've seen all of these except Jersey Girl and Mae Day. I have to say Clerks is my favorite.

Yeah, I'm atheist and should love Dogma. Why is that? I don't get why you being an atheist means you would've loved it. If anything I would think it would be the opposite.

"Clerks" is probably Smith's best movie still, but the one that makes me laugh the hardest is "Mallrats." Jason Lee is freakin' hillarious in that!

i'm not too keen on kevin smith-- i think the more films he makes, the less credible he becomes in my eyes. i would vote for CLERKS, but he *did* make alan rickman the "voice of god" in DOGMA, so that proves to me he's not all *that* bad of a director. although the plot was way too corny. it was definately preachy and painfully forced in terms of pleasing the general masses.
