"Ghostworld" was originally a comic book/graphic novel. That was a pretty good one, too. Oh yeah, that WAS a good movie!

It's sad how great a graphic novel "Constantine" is and how crappy a movie it is.

I had to go with the X-Men films. I've always been a huge fan of the X-Men franchise. And I was really impressed with the actors they picked for the movies. Hugh Jackman is perfect for Wolverine. And who could do better with Professor X than Captain Picard?
I'm also a huge fan of Tim Burton's Batman and Batman Returns. Michelle Pfeifer was awesome as Catwoman. When I first heard they were making Batman Begins I was worried. The Batman movies had plummeted after Batman Returns and I was concerned about their attempt to revive this series. And I'm a huge Christian Bale fan from all the way back when I was 13 watching Newsies (sad, I know), but I had no faith whatsoever that he would pull it off. In fact, after I read about it in a magazine before the movie went into production, I looked at my husband and predicted, "BOMB!" They proved me wrong. I thought Batman Begins was excellent!
The Spider Man movies are also great - Toby MacGuire really does a good Peter Parker. I didn't think it was going to work when I originally heard about him playing Spider Man. But he's turned out to be a perfect fit.
Sin City was also a great movie, though I knew nothing of the books or anything before I saw it. What a beautifully shot movie. I'm a huge of fan of their use of color - or lack there of.

It's sad how great a graphic novel "Constantine" is and how crappy a movie it is. I've heard a lot of people who read the comics say they hated the movie. I knew nothing of the comics and I thought the movie was great. Because I know next to nothing about the comics, I'm curious - What was it about the movie that was so disliked by the comic book fans?

Had to go with Hellboy. Great character...had never read the comic but I'd read a novel about him!

I realized reading this how much time I have spent watching comic book movies. Huh.
I liked "Hellboy' quite a bit, and both "X-Men' films were very good. Spidey turned out nice as well. I have to admit, I think the first "Ninja Turtles" film was actually pretty well done, compared to how bad some of these movies can end up.

Wow...alot of movies (franchises) I enjoyed on this one...hard to choose but....
I would have to say "Batman Begins".....this movie is everything I wanted from the first ones. DOn't get me wrong I liked Michael Keaton's movies but "BB" is what Batman should be from my reading growing up in the '80s....the Dark Knight
That being said here is my list of best and worst
Best: (in no particular order) Sin CIty Blade franchise Superman and Supes II X-Men franchise Punisher (2004)....alot didn't like this one but I did Hellboy...Ron Perlman is great in this part Spawn...the movie was great but if you have the chance check out the animated movies...superb
Worst: Dick Tracy Barb Wire Elektra Punisher '90...uugh Catwoman...one of the worst movies ever
The rest are kinda just in between...I enjoyed most

MJ why did you like the Hulk film? I felt it was beautifully told - It hearkens back to something Hitchcock did well. make an entertaining movie that was also artistically told. I felt real empathy for the characters. The struggle to contain the rage within him, and how this monster has doomed any chance for a life he and Betty might have. The scene when Nick Nolte is speaking of his wifes death, the dialog about the knife and flesh merging as one, and how in one moment he ended all that was precious to him. It was one of the most heartbreaking, beautiful lines of dialog I've heard in ANY movie and it drew me near tears. The Hulk himself was powerful, scary - when he's taking on the full military force in the desert, I was awed and a little frightened by the creatures brute strength and anger. I don't just "like" the Hulk, or think it's an okay movie. I think its a great film, with a depth and nuance not seen in many modern action flicks. It moves me and every time I see it I enjoy it even more.
