I think sometimes you just have to accept that you aren't the target audience. Works for me. I am very uninterested in Star Wars and I like it that way. I was actually confused by the thread title, I initially thought it was about not getting why people like it so much, think it's so great, whatever. Either way, to each his own. Carry on, nothing to see here.

I've never cared for the prequel triology. Let's just say it outright: Harrison Ford carried the first three movies, period. Carrie Fisher was amusing enough, the droids were cute and infinitely annoying, James Earl Jones' Vader voice work was nearly a character unto itself. But no one topped Ford at delivering a cynical line or expressing incredulity or offering up that famous "Who, me?" look that would later come to such wondrous fruition with Indiana Jones. "Star Wars" without Ford's dry humor and bewildered mug is like a cheesy pinball machine without the ball: all bells and whistles, few genuine pleasures.

Yeah, firewall looks like a good flick for him. Still kickin ass in his late 60s!

This thread is a little stale... but I just wanted to agree with Satoris. For years, dating back to my original review of Episode 1 on imdb way back when, I said that the 'new' trilogy needed a Solo-like character to add some levity. The entire human element of the new trilogy was just so wooden and uninteresting. Of course there were also plot holes the size of Mac trucks... but I can overlook that kinda stuff when dealing with most movies. Banal dialouge and bored looking actors? well, that's where I draw the line.
