Anybody familiar with a Czech director called Karel Zeman who worked back in the '60s? He had an interesting style that mixed animations of period illustrations with live actors. Baron Prasil is essentially the Munchausen story, but opens with an astronaut landing on the Moon only to find there a meeting of 18th century gentlemen. They return to Earth in a coach pulled by swans and there have a series of fantastic adventures. I saw the movie as a child and many of the images still stick with me.
Anyway, my main question is if anyone knows where I could find a copy? YesAsia has a region 2 DVD in Czech with Japanese subtitles, but I'd prefer a little English if I could get it. I'd appreciate it if anyone can give me any leads.

Strange and memorable. Up until a couple of years back it was only an unidentified memory from childhood, but then I found his 19th century inspired "The Fabulous World of Jules Verne" for rent and then recognized "Prasil" from the IMDB. Japanese video rental places are really good for finding foreign movies that don't make it into the Blockbusters or Hollywood Videos. Unfortunately though you don't often get English subtitles, and my kanji isn't up to following the Japanese ones. For all I know I'd hate some of them if I knew what the heck they were saying! (^_^)
