Every year at this time I look forward to ABC's broadcast of The Ten Commandments....when I do my own version of MST3K.
Between the plot holes, Anne Baxter chewing the scenery, the strange casting (Edgar G. Robinson as the Jewish overseer? John Carradine as Moses' brother? Only Yul Brenner looks the part he's playing....) it's a great evening's comedy.
Anyone else who does this too?
(BTW - it's being shown April 15th at 8pm this year)

I absolutely love The Ten Commandments. However, I riff on Charleton Heston constantly during it. Fun fact, did you know that they say the word 'bondage' nearly fifty times? I counted one year. Sadly, I will not be able to participate. I'll be home. That means dial-up. That means bad interenetting.

Sorry to hear about your lack of internet WR.
I'm sorry WR. I thought you were organizing some manner of event. Actually, yeah, I do play the home game during the Ten Commandments.

I'm not sure if I'd riff it but I'd probably watch it... If I wasn't 3,000 miles away and without any sort of sattelite or cable. Sigh... Just 2 more months until I finally get to go back to America.

So we should take a slug of beer whenever BONDAGE is said?

So we should take a slug of beer whenever BONDAGE is said? Unless you have a "close friend" who owns a cat-o-nine-tails..... <evil grin>

I've seen this at Target. I was very tempted to get it for the extras and the silent version. But I think The Ten Commandments is like The Wizard of Oz or even The Rocky Horror Picture Show.....being able to watch it whenever you want kind of takes the "specialness" of it away. Seriously, I watched The Wizard of Oz every year since I could remember. Then it came out on videotape and I bought it immediately. I watched it maybe twice before I went over to DVD. When you know you can always watch it later you keep putting it off.

So we should take a slug of beer whenever BONDAGE is said? yes. And two slugs whenever Anne Baxter throws herself toward something (a chaise lounge, the wall, Heston) and heaves " Oh, Moses...!"

You should have had one choice: "That's BLASPHEMOUS! Where do I sign up?"

You should have had one choice: "That's BLASPHEMOUS! Where do I sign up?" That's a different thread. BTW, I only made it to the part where Ramses sent Moses off into the desert to die before I fell asleep....had a rough Saturday.
