I thought the scenery in The Holy Mountain was great as well as the very "literal" takes on religion. I thought the ending was cool as it had a meaning that kinda came out of nowhere. I think the reason The Holy Mountain hit me more was that i am very open minded about the different religions being that i have looked into all different types of religions and Gods. The part like you said with the different people being introduced was cool because they were all Gods from the ROman and Greek era. Speaking of Herzog, i just watched Nosferatu the other night and i forgot how awesome the scenery and the score that plays is just incredible. I think Jodorowsky is up there with my fav directors but my fav is Lucio Fulci by far. It helps if you don't know the city because stuff like the master lair which are famous towers in it. Still I think the scenery is great but to me El Topo's is one of the best ever and just awesome. As for Lucio Fulci, I only saw one movie, The Beyond, which was pretty bad. Still it had some good scenes and I wished I had finished it but the DVD I rented it was scratched.
