Reading over the FAQ, it's too bad they don't offer a CD version. "That vould simplify everything" Why not just burn the file to an audio CD?

Yeah this is a great thing! I've only got dial up though, and I've only got windows 98! God knows how long it would take to download, while all the time hoping that nobody phones the house! I don't have an MP3 player either but this has motivated me into thinking about maybe getting one if it's cheap. I also live in Scotland so the Region 2 problem comes into the equation. I'd need to import Roadhouse! Bloody hell! Customs'll p*ss themselves laughing. Hmmm..... maybe this ain't so great!

This could be a problem for people who live in countries with PAL encoding rather than NTSC. The film speed-up would probably cause the commentary to become out-of-sync.

I did the download, no problem. Now to find a copy of Roadhouse...
Don't expect the $1.99 price for future efforts. It is listed as the Beta price.

I'll try to figure something out. One of my nephews or nieces know more about computers than I do. Maybe I can pay for the download, etc, and they can make me a CD. I dunno, but I'll find a way - even for the wrectehd Road House - I like Mike

Anyone tried out ShareCrow yet? I've been downloading the Doctor Who Season 2 Commentary (podcast) and been wondering if there was software that could sync stuff up... ...but sometimes it's just as fun to listen to them standalone Anyone else think this is basically "early adoption" at work? That basically these movies with Mike's commentary will be available for purchase (perhaps much) later, and this is simply the fastest way they could get it out without legal problems? I cry for the non-home-computered -- I used to be among your number, even though I'm a programmer...but my job happened to be pretty flexible about personal content on our work machines. If you're on here, though, it does mean you have a support network of tech-savvy friendly people who share your interest, so maybe we can figure something out. As these are going to be movie-length, the audio would more than likely stretch across more than one CD (max length 70-80 mins.) That CD-change break might give you the opportunity to go to the bathroom, do a "host segment" of your own in the mirror (kleenex cozies make great puppets), and then flush the toilet and yell "mooviiee siiiiign" as you run back down the hallway...

Well, I just watched Road House with Mike's commentary, and I thought it was splendid!
It's a sinch to sync with the DVD. "Disembodio" really helps, too. For me, playing the movie on Windows Media Player with the Rifftrax riff track playing on iTunes worked best. I already owned Road House so all I needed to do was download the track (just 3 minutes) and find my copy of Road House and let the hilarity ensue.
I have to admit; though Mike's a clean writer (which I admire and really enjoy about him), it's sort of different hearing him riff sex scenes and scenes with full-frontal nudity. Of course he remains classy while letting the movie have it (especially "Tinker")! I thought it was great!
Here's to many more RiffTrax to come. Long live RiffTrax!

Seems interesting, hope they do a film I have on dvd soon though. I'll probably end up buying their targets anyway if I find them for a reasonable price anywhere.

The Road House track runs 115 minutes and Fifth Element runs at least 2 hours. You would have to use 2 cds and then re-sync after the disc change. Haha, this is a great idea. I hope this isn't all that Mike is doing for them, though. It's a pity you have to pay, although thankfully it's only $2 for an unrestricted file. Maybe he'll be able to bring Kevin and Bill in on this. A pity to have to pay?? Why is that? Mike should just spend his time writing and recording these tracks and then give them away?? Gimme a break. I would pay at least $10 per track. --Ian

Do all computers do that?), and having it split over 2 discs gave me an opp for a bathroom break. No problem in the least. Though If I ever get a home computer it will be cool to see how it works that way as well. I'm very happy.

I went the whole techno-nerd way and re-authored my own DVD with the track. It came out all right. The disc I used for Road House was used which casued some video glitches that made the Rifftrax drift a tiny bit enough for me to notice (disembaudio) but not enough to be wrong. Now I know what to look out for when they release the Fifth Element track. --Ian

Guys, aren't the riff trax mp3s? I thought they were, and if, indeed, they are, they won't take up much space. Yeah if you burn them as data on a CD. But we are talking about burning them as audio CDs, to play in a regular CD player like Mighty Jack did. -Ian

Oh, sorry, Ian.
I think the newer CD players DO play mp3s. Sonys so, I believe.
