I liked the Film Crew DVDs and love to see more. I just don't see that happening. With that said I love RiffTrax. If they could only do a few older movies we would be getting the best of both worlds.

Yes, I mean the host segments. Movie riffing is great, but I also enjoy seeing Mike, Kevin and Bill goofing around. Nothing has made me laugh harder than the ending host segment of Killers From Space where they demonstrated the bizarre extreme-close-up-while-other-guy-is-talking film technique employed in the film. It just has to be seen. Agree, and I think the Wongo host segs are even funnier.

Old movies, new movies....good movies, bad movies......I don't care. I just want riffing! As long as the jokes are making me laugh, they can riff on the weather channel for all I care. Overall I've found the riffing on rifftrax to be quite a bit stronger than Film Crew anyway, so if they just choose to continue concentrating on rifftrax I'm fine with it.

Unfortunately, since Rifftrax is going so well for the guys we'll never see another Film Crew DVD. I was upset over this fact (may not be 100%, but in my eyes it is), but now we have Cinematic Titanic who will give fans the movie on DVD!

From what I've gathered, the 2 years it took and all the problems that caused that wait are what killed The Film Crew. I'm just glad that we at least got 4 good DVDs out of the deal. I would love for them to get TFC back up and running, though. Especially if they could do the guest riffers like they do on Rifftrax. That would definitely give them an edge on CT.

For me the edge goes to any combination of former MST crew. I love Fred Willard, and can tolerate Doogie, but when it comes to riffing I'd rather hear any combination of Brains rather than a guest. Or maybe Mike could be riffing on a movie and we'd hear a knock on his door and the guest would join him for a little while or something. I'm aware I'm probably alone on this. *I just realized you might've meant guest riffers give Rifftrax the advantage in pulling in new (non-MSTie) business. That I agree with.*

"Rifftrax" has legs, and seems to have spawned a renaissance of movie riffing.
"Film Crew" is great, but has been creatively overtaken, beaten, and mugged by RT.
And that's not a bad thing.
