I just saw The Fall of Troy with Coheed and Cambria tonight... the most amazing show I have EVER witnessed. Truly something I'm never gonna forget.

Wow! I love this thread... such diversity!! Here's my 10 (although this was sooooooo hard and i left out a TON of great stuff)
1) Zombie Eaters - Faith No More : i love Mike Patton in any form (solo/Mr. Bungle/Fantomas) and i love EVERY FNM album...but this song just has it ALL!!! 2)I walk the Line- Johnny Cash : i really shouldn't have to say anything here. 3) Skulls-The Misfits : Just takes me back...I love all things Danzig related (solo/Samhain) but this song is really sentimental..like a first-love kinda thing. 4)Locust Star- Neurosis : One of the greatest bands of all time!! Long dirgy-metal...3 singers/guitarists/2 drummers...just AMAZING...(also it's hands down the BEST concert i've ever been too...especially since it was @ a SMALL club in Cleveland) 5) Everybody Knows- Leonard Cohen : The lyrics say it all. 6)Blueprint-Fugazi : excellent band, excellent music & lyrics. 7) Another State of Mind-Social Distortion : I've been into these guys forever....there's something about that on-the-road love song...obnoxious & sweet all at once. 8) Chemical Warfare- Slayer : i just had to pick something metal...i have every Slayer/Iron Maiden/Venom record..gotta represent for the man downstairs... heeeheee 9) Iron Fist-Motorhead : no list should be complete without a kick-arse Motorhead song... 10) this is where i cheat a bit....it's IMPOSSIBLE to pick a fave Pink FLoyd song...so i have to go with : Pigs on the Wing (Part 1)...then Dogs...then Pigs on the WIng (part 2) Animals is such an underrated album...and it's easily one of the best. (as a footnote...i did have a hard time not putting the ENTIRE Pro's & Cons of Hitchiking -Waters LP on list...but i didn't want 2 things so closely related)
I was soooo excited to see someone throw Cocksparrer up on their list!! HUGE Fan!! i love alot of that kinda stuff (Combat 84, Last Resort, etc) Plus the Bauhaus/Peter Murphy stuff... it's so interesting to read what everyone listens to!!

Or you could cheat and put the 8-track version which merges both Pigs on the Wing with a Snowy White guitar solo linking them.

I collect vinyl...but i don't think i could do the 8 track thing......although i do remember my dad making MIX 8-tracks... tooooo SWEET.

Right on. I'm going to throw on some In On The Kill Taker right now. Time for another list. It's been a while since I've been in here... - Death Angel - Open Up; The Slayer reference by Mr. Mergin made me long for the good old Bay Area thrash days. Frolic Through The Parkis probably their best album, and this one stands out on it.
- The Washdown - All Wrapped Up In Plastic; Being a smoker hasn't done anything positive for me. Except get me on Marlboro's mailing list, which got me their Second Sessions CD for free. This closes out that disc with abandon.
- Diesel - Sausalito Summer Nights; They sound like the Steve Miller Band, but no matter. This is one of the best on-the-road songs I've heard for a long time. Finally released not that long ago on CD with an extended guitar solo.
- Shriekback - Nemesis; Great groove on this one. I can see why they were never popular, but they took themselves seriously and it shows in the final product. Excellent at high volume.
- The Go-Go's - The Whole World Lost Its Head; Could put a lot of Go-Go's songs here, but I still remember hearing this on the radio in a Burger King parking lot for some reason. Return To The Valley Of The Go-Go's is a great compilation.
- Ministry - Flashback; The Land Of Rape And Honey had a huge influence on where industrial music was heading. Along with Stigmata, this is the album's most powerful entry.
- Frank Black - White Noise Maker; I still think Teenager Of The Year is his strongest album. Double-length and not a bad tune in sight.
- Hickoids - Vittles; I think I recommended a Hickoids song last time. This time the song is actually in print. Their early stuff has been re-released on the album Corn Demon. Fun, hilarious, rollicking cow punk.
- Sister Psychic - Kim The Waitress; My favorite version of this song. It's from 1994's Surrender, You Freak! on Enigma. Never heard another album by them, but enjoyed this one.
- Sisters Of Mercy - Lucretia, My Reflection; By this time they're a ways away from where they started, but Floodland is still a great album. Their songs can be sweeping and epic, and this one delivers in that regard.
Hope I didn't re-recommend any of my previous selections, or anybody else's, for that matter.

I'd have to say my favorite song on it is "Sheep".

Okay, I've scanned the whole thread and I'll try not to poat any repeats. It's hard to pick just ten! Great topic, btw. I love lists.
-Cyndi Lauper: She Bop. Probably my favorite song of all time-- it mixes great new wave beats with Cyndi's amazing vocals.
-Scary Monsters & Super Creeps: David Bowie This song is completely unlike anything you hear on the readio now, which is kind of true with a lot of Bowie's music but hey, I can only pick one.
-Rebel Yell: Billy Idol Nothing like a song about angry sex that mixes punk, new wave, and metal.
-Sax & Violins: Talking Heads My second favorite song ever; it has amazing lyrics. I believe it was the Heads' last single.
-How Soon Is Now: The Smiths Man is this song beautiful and haunting; I think I'm kind of in love with Morrissey.
-Family Man: Hall & Oates I love a good song about a homewrecker. Guitar is great and Daryl Hall's vocals are great, as usual.
-Edge Of Seventeen: Stevie Nicks This song is so rousing and passionate; IMO Stevie's masterpiece, poetically and vocally.
-Refugee: Tom Petty Just a classic that never fails to make me wish I could rock really, really hard.
-Atomic: Blondie My favorite Blondie song; it's light on lyrics but very heavy on awesome, what with Debbie's amazing voice and incredible guitar riffs.
-Hold Me Now: Thompson Twins This song never fails to make me stop what I'm doing and listen; it's a bittersweet song that everyone can relate to.
So there.
