When I was in high school I had a funny crush on Grace Slick. I mean Grace Slick as she was in the 60’s, not Grandma Slick as she would have been to me at my age.
I had convinced myself that I was born in the wrong decade and I was supposed to have “come of age” during the 60’s and attended Woodstock. Grace Slick’s melodious voice, like a surrealistic sirens call, beckoned me to a world of psychedelic revolution where the doors of perception were cracked open just long enough for me to peek inside and totally blow my mind.
I did a lot of drugs in high school.

She's alright with me. I find it coincidental that Otis Williams of the Temptations and the famous Motown producer who signed them, Eddie Holland, were born on the same day yesterday, as well.
