Oh geez... I loved the Cloverfield "experience" of watching the film in a theater, but I have no desire to ever watch it again on a TV screen. If it's possible to actually tell what's happening on a small screen, I suppose I could be induced to watch it again... if the commentary's good

Someone on the RiffTrax forum mentioned it would be best to watch it on a computer screen.
Luckily I have a 42 inch HDTV at home, so hopefully that will come close to the theatre experience.

It's not out on DVD until June over here so i think I'll pick up a copy on import for this. Hopefully this works as although I enjoyed it at first the more I thought about it the more I realised this was a piece of crap.

I had hoped to catch Cloverfield in the theater but never managed to find time. The reviews for it were all over the board. Some loved it and some thought it crap. Soon I'll be deciding for myself!

Well, what do you know, it looks like dreams do come true after all! ;D
I can't wait to see this one, the movie more than deserves it.

I must say, I was just staring at that poster, and I love the shot of Mike holding the video camera, in glee as his friends die horrible deaths. Describes the movie more than words possibly could.
Word of advice to those who are ever in a monster attack, screw the camera, and run like hell.

My wife asked me to describe this movie after I saw it. I said "a documentary about stupid people." It was a fun theater-going experience, but the movie fully deserves a riffing.

I visited the Cloverfield Forum today. Some of the true die-hard fans of the movie are really upset by the rifftrax, thinking it will ruin their "great film". Then again, no one is forcing them to watch it if they don't want to, so why the anger?

Here's the thing, RiffTrax needs to be paid for. If you don't want it, don't pay for it, and your film is untouched. Problem solved, drama queens.
You don't hear me bitching about them taking on the Spider-Man films. In fact, I find the RiffTrax very funny and all three remain some of my favorite films of all time.

I was never put off when Rifftrax took on Halloween, Predator or Jurassic Park and it has never altered my love for those movies. But, really, some of those fans are going way overboard. I've never seen such a celebration of mediocrity since movies like Grindhouse, Sin City and Kill Bill got in the IMDB Top 250. What's next, 300 overshadowing Ben-Hur? ::shudder::

An excellent monster movie. One of the best I've seen in a long time. The "Blair Witch Project" approach was imaginative and worked well. This will either be a tour de force Rifftrax or one of their worst. The action is so fast paced after the party that I am wondering what The Crew will do with this one when the pace picks up. I await.

Because my head is in the sand when it comes to newer movies, I've never even heard of Cloverfield until they said they were going to riff on it.
After checking the write ups and reading that it is filmed like Blair Witch, my first reaction is "uh-oh"...this movie must be annoying to watch.
I think I will watch this one un-riffed first...for sure.
