Maybe "Saw" is not a slasher movie, I'll take your word for it, but this movie is not something I want to sit through no matter how funny Bill and Kevin may be. I find this sort of movie profoundly disturbing. I am not at all "thrilled" by torture, psychological or physical being presented as entertainment. I just don't have that kind of personality. I'm making no judgments here. I'm just speaking for myself. I don't blame you Doctor Z. I only watched it for my studies and by the time I finished writing about them I felt dirty. Saw is by no means the worst, quality wise or in gore, but it certainly is wrong. That said I'll watch the Rifftrax as my love of Kevin And Bill makes me want to see what they do.

I'm not so sure about this one myself. I've seen the movie. Bill and Kevin have a lot of work on their hands to find the humor in it.

I have never bought or saw one Rifftrax, but Saw isn't that bad. Violent: yes...great movie: no...good riffing material: most likely not. However, it's no more shocking than a lot of well-revered (and parodied) horror franchises from the 80s. Now if they did that turd Hostel or it's needless sequel that would be some BS. I like a little sauce and sleaze in my movies, but that extreme-just-to-be extreme "video nasty" stuff is stupid.

I can see why some would have reservations on this film as riffing material, though I can see them riffing upon someone sawing his foot off with the greatest of ease.
It's incredibly twisted stuff, but black comedy is usually the funniest.
I'm still waiting for them to tackle one of the Friday the 13th movies. C'mon, guys! Those are way overdue!

I hate this film to the very core of my soul. I dispise this sick torture garbage trend in films... hell I think I'd rather eat glass than watch this again, even with riffing.
I'll have to think about this.

I haven't watched it all the way through but the first ten minutes was pretty good.

This track was great. It really felt like Kevin and Bill cut loose and had a lot of fun.
The movie is putrid, but not in the way I expected. Maybe it's because I've seen Hostel (which I regret), but it seemed fairly tame. Lots of disturbing subject matter and brief smatterings of imagery, but nothing much in way of on-screen gore. Unfortunately, the ridiculous plot and heinous acting are plenty horrifying on their own. Danny Glover is cashing his paycheck in his mind the whole time, and somewhere near the end Cary Elwes blows an acting fuse and starts whining and blubbering like a four-year-old. Lame.

Cary Elwes would have been 100 times better if they let him have his accent. He can't do an "american" accent to save his life, especially if he has to scream and cry.

In fact, I don't even see a link on your webpage to your reviews anymore. Am I missing it? Been a while since I looked to read one of your reviews, but I always found them helpful. I'm especially interested in this case, considering the nature of the film being done.

Based on the main page, it looks like he is dropping the hosted reviews at the moment. For what it's worth, I enjoyed your write-ups, gammer, and often used them to help choose what I watched, but I can understand if you don't keep doing it.

I'm a horror/gore fan who thought Saw was pretty awful.
But I love this idea of a Rifftrax Friday the 13th, bring it on. Especially Part 5!

The film is awful, thankfully the Rifftrax is great!
And it's a shame to hear Gammer's dropping the reviews, I really enjoyed them, but like CH I can understand why.
