I have no idea who Richard Cheese is, but this seems like a surprising choice on a couple of levels. First, you have to wonder if the recent death of Bernie Mac is giving them any pause at all about releasing this so soon. Second, this seems to come awfully close to breaking the "no comedies" rule. "Ocean's Eleven" is primarily a heist/action film, but quite a lot of it is played for laughs, something I thought MST vets have been trying to avoid since "Catalina Caper."
ETA: Wikipedia has a nice clear little entry on who "Cheese" is, and you can sample quite a number of his songs on iTunes. Certainly sounds like he has the right sense of humor.

I question this choice in movie too. Not only is this a favorite of mine, but I don't think this movie takes itself seriously. It was intended as... and is a mild comedy.
My only guess is that Mike stuck with his "rule", that guest riffers are the ones who pick the movie. Therefore this movie was chosen by Richard Cheese...who knows not of the 'don't riff comedy' rule.

I've heard of Richard Cheese. He does those sort of "lounge" versions of popular songs. If you have ever seen the remake of Dawn of the Dead, there's montage in the middle to his version of Get Down With the Sickness.
I'm not a fan of this movie, and I really have no desire to revisit it. I might watch this one someday, but it's not the top of my "To Do" list.

I find it hard not to like this movie, the cast seems like they're having a blast. No particular interest in seeing it riffed, though, and zero interest in the guest this time around. Better luck next time, I guess.

I think the choice of oceans 11 is pretty good. It is sort of a comedy. But anytime you have a movie with that many big stars its easy to riff on. Richard Cheese has been singing rap, heavy metal, and pop songs in a lounge style for years. He became famous because MTV years ago showed him singing insane in the membrane like a bad drunk lounge singer. I have a few songs he sang live and hes great at on the spot comedy with the fans. nine inch nails closer sang by him... www.youtube.com/watch?v=BavqDspO3k8

Richard Cheese is awesome. I've seen him 5-6 times by now. I should think he'd prefer the original Rat Pack version of "Ocean's 11".
I've never been inclined to get RiffTrax, because the process sounds a bit complicated, and I'd rather watch TV on my TV than my computer. This, however, I'd love to check out.

Richard Cheese's version of "Creep" should be required listening for every pretentious Radiohead fan.
Or, in other words, every Radiohead fan.
