Just found this video on YouTube and it's a Comic-Con interview with Joel, Trace, and Jim that I hadn't seen before. The majority is stuff we've heard before about the origin of the show, so the real point of interest is that once again Joel gets asked about a possible collaboration with Mike at Rifftrax: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrW2W3rN4N0I find this disappointing, to say the least. Joel's kinda pushed the idea aside for a while, citing that he had to jumpstart Cinematic Titanic first. That was fine, because there was always a little bit of hope that eventually it might happen. I think his answer here is about as close to a flat out "no" as we're gonna get...

Aww man that is quite a bummer, but I can understand. I mean they both by this point have diffirent styles that might not mix together.

I can't agree with that. Conflicting styles can work brilliantly. Fred Willard from Missle to the Moon had a very Joel-like matter of fact, laid back delivery and he worked great with Mike.
Ah well. My dream will have to be put on hold.... unless we offer Joel a million dollars! That's a plan that just....might....work!

Yeah, the thing that frustrated me the most was the fact Joel was saying that Mike would feel the same way about the conflicting styles/comfort thing. I can see Joel being uneasy about it, but the fact that Mike already asked him to do a Rifftrax, and Bill wrote that wonderful invitation to the Titans on their blog means that they do not feel the same way about a crossover as Joel does. They want it, we want it, and heck, if you just do it people will stop asking about it! *sigh*
But I like Tony Stark's idea. A fan fundraiser so we can offer Joel enough money that he would be crazy to refuse! ;D

The thing is some of the other Titans may. Obviously Mary Jo already has twice and in the Quick Stop interview with Trace the idea was floated and he pretty much said maybe.

CT is totally fan dependent. Keeping fans happy and making new fans is really important for them. Even though Rifftracs is doing very similar stuff the two produts are distinct enough that they're not really competing with each other.
Having Joel do a Rifftrac would be great advertising for both products and would keep the fans happy. He could probably do one of the shorts in one afternoon. If he didn't want to do it again he could just say he enjoyed it and he might do it again but he's really busy right now. They might even be able to get a short on TV somewhere, which would be great advertising.
