Lets see if I can do this...
1. On the Waterfront (Brando puts forth the greatest acting ever seen on screen) 2. Seven Samurai 3. Casablanca 4. Citizen Kane 5. Jaws 6. North By Northwest 7. The General 8. Once Upon A Time in the West 9. Roman Holiday 10. Sullivans Travels
but man, I could do a top 50 and still feel I left out a favorite. One's that missed the cut: The Searchers, Dark City, Wild Strawberries, In A Lonley Place, Unforgiven, Dr. Strangelove...

Hmmm, here we go, something for the ages:
10. Harlem Nights- I mean, come on, this is obvious. Any movie that has Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, and Redd Foxx along with a superb supporting cast has to be up there.
9.The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly-Sure, it's cheese, it's over-the-top, but, who cares??? Eastwood at his best. Even though it is an Italian-Western.
8.The Stoned Age-Another bit of cheese but, a satiric piece of cheese. A great look at slacker life in Lo-Cal. Man, these aren't the talls!!!!
7.Psycho-Hey, what would this list be without a bit of the old Hitchcockian flavor. The best of suspense by the master of suspense.
6.Star Wars:Episode VI:Return of the Jedi-Yeah, yeah, I know everyone LOVES Empire because "It has the down ending". I don't like down endings. I like Tattooine and Jabba blowing up.
5.Saving Private Ryan-It's not a list without a war movie and well, while not classic this is probably the most realistic depiction of war ever on film.
4.Monty Python and the Holy Grail-I mean, just watch it. If you don't get it, I don't know how you can understand the subtlety of MST3K.
3.A Bronx Tale-If you haven't seen this Mafioso classic with Deniro, then you need to, now. Not that it's the best but, with Deniro directing, there are few better.
2.MST3K:The Movie-You know, I wouldn't even be here if I didn't like this one. I know I didn't make it number one but, with good reason.
Becauuuuusssseeeeee......... 1.2001:A Space Odyssey-The movie upon which sci-fi takes its cues. What can I say that hasn't already been said, perfect visual effects, great symbolism, waaaayyyy ahead of its time.
Well that's it, hope you all enjoyed my list and maybe I've suggested some things some of you haven't seen.

holy moly, forrest, what ya got against Super Troopers? i admit it wasn't the greatest, but to choose a Pauly Shore marathon over it seems a little over the top. Believe it or not, it actually gets funnier the more you see it-not unlike some episodes of our favorite TV show- Please don't flame me for that-it was not a direct comparison of the two, merely an observation how some things get funnier the second or third time through- Again, I admit the first run thru of ST didn't bowl me over(much like my first time thru Escape 2000) but to choose the painfully unfunny Pauly Shore seems a tad capricious- Just my opinion, of course!

Hey Forrest, I thought Bride of Chucky was pretty good, it delivered exactly what was expected. And Jennifer Tilly-now that's casting! Haven't seen Hulk yet, and I couldn't make it through 13 ghosts-not even one of my favorite working acotrs today, Tony Shaloub could save that one- Oh well, guess the world won't stop turning if we can't agree on some things, I mean, we'll always have MST3K, right? ;D Completely OT, but I just have to say this is one cool BB, one of the few I at which I actually post, and it is civil exchanges of the sort we just had that make it so, IMO- lemmin

As Good As It Gets is #1? That's funny, I just watched that movie over the weekend. Remember I said the list is in no particular order. I like all the movies equally. But I do find Jack Nicholson to be an amazing actor. And if you ever play the game Unreal Tournament, there are some voice taunts that come from that movie, as well as other movies Jack has starred in.

LOL thats me! I don't know why, I just thought that movie was absolutely hilarious! Well, I also thought Kung-Pow was funny, so I guess i'm just wierd.

There are some very interesting picks on this thread! Mine would have to be ~ 1- Lord of The Rings Trilogy – Never before has a film (yes, its one movie cut into 3 parts) moved me like the LOTR has. I don’t have words to describe how awesome this movie is. I never cried in a movie theater before, but I was chocking back tears during ROTK. 2 – Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein - Good clean fun! The jokes are still funny, even today. 3 – Night of The Living Dead – Scariest movie ever made. (IMO) 4 – The Star Wars Trilogy – Because crap – its Star Wars. The prequels left a bad taste in my mouth for a while, until I realized that their not real Star Wars movies. 5 – Monty Python and The Holy Grail – Funniest movie ever made. 6 – Ed Wood – A movie about the greatest (worst) b-movie director of all time. 7 – The Goonies – Child hood nostalgia at its best. 8 – The Monster Squad – Like the Goonies, but with Dracula, the Wolf Man, the Mummy, Frankenstein’s Monster and the Creature from The Black Lagoon! This ones a guilty pleasure of mine. 9 – Evil Dead 2 – This movie deserves its status as a cult classic. A must see. 10 – Plan 9 – Just because. That was easy until I got to #6. I love movies so much that it’s really impossible to rank them all against each other. That list could look completely different tomorrow.

It was the rarest of breeds that exceeded my expectations based on the massive amounts of hype. I was also choking back the tears in ROTK. Ed Wood. I remember seeing that movie, and even though I was like 12 and very restless, I enjoyed it alot. I need to get that movie again.
