Maybe we're the four horsemen.
As soon as we all agree, then it's time to ride out.
Ride now for ruin! And the world's ending!!
(sorry, just saw Return of the King again).

Well, if we're gonna be the Four Horsemen, which of us is which? I prefer to be famine. I'm sure we'll disagree on who's who. Servo

Nirvana is enormously overrated. The only reason that anyone remembers them is because when they “hit it big” every other mainstream rock band sounded just like one another. (Like the group Poison, and all of the other hair bands wearing make up and spandex for example.) Nirvana was a breath of fresh air and important to rock historically, but timing is every thing. A great, or even good band they were not.
Also, Pink Floyd is nothing without Roger Waters. Nothing.
Let the stoning commence. (Curls up in fetal position.)

Floyd was also no good when they had Syd Barrett. I've said it before and I'll say it again, unless you're on LSD, you really don't get it. Servo

I'm also with you, MonsterX.
The Foo Fighters are the superior Dave Grohl band.
And it's not even close.
I remember when Nirvana broke in 1991. I was 16. The perfect age to be blown away by an angry, break-all-the-rules of corporate rock, neo-punk band.
You know what I remember most? How everyone (including me) liked PearlJam and Faith No More better. So why aren't they legendary? Easy- no one from those bands shot themselves.
(And because Faith No More only had one really good album)

(And because Faith No More only had one really good album) I didn’t want to sound like I was picking on a dead guy so I didn’t mention Kurt Cobain’s suicide, although I agree with what you said. I remember people holding candle light vigils, bad Kurt Cobain memorial tee shirts – Bah! Great song writer, singer or guitar player? Nope. It’s always sad when someone takes his or her own life regardless, but it’s not like he was John Lennon or anything. If it wasn’t Nirvana, it would have been someone else. You know, I didn’t see anyone making a big deal when the guy from Alice and Chains killed himself. Why? He didn’t choose to kill himself at the height of his popularity. Although he was talented, most people (myself included) dont even remember his name. It’s sad, morbid and true.

I've been listening to alot of Chicago lately. What a great band, and I love their older stuff. Songs like "Beginning", or "Make Me Smile", or "Colour My World". Great stuff, and full of life and real musical talent. After all, they use a trombone, trumpet, and saxophone as well as guitars, bass, drums, and vocals!

I figured I was the only person on this board who still listened to Chicago-Love that old stuff, everything you mentioned, plus more I have ripped to mp3 from my old tapes. Nothing like cranking up some classic cut like Saturday in the Park or Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is-the rich horns rounding out the powerhouse sound- the catchy melodies, there really is nothing like them, before or since. I used to have a tape of them live, they really did some long jams on stage back before they started to suck.. Wow did they turn into a sucky band in the later years though....

Chicago Rocks - I have one of their records and it's pretty good.
Rush kicks ass
Led Zeppelin's Coda is vastly underrated
Boston's debut album was their best, the rest sucked
Records are WAAAAYYYY better than CD's
Nearly all music released in the last two decades is HORRIBLE! There are some bands that stayed good in the 80's, but the rest crashed down like the Hindenburg. Those that still rocked: Van Halen (of course) Rush, Jeff Beck, The Ramones, and some others.
The only artist I like that came from the 80's is Wierd Al Yankovic.
Punk rock, except for the Ramones, is horrible. They took it from being about rebellion (sort of) to being about skateboarding and bullpoopie like that. Skateboarding is not the place for punk rock. Leave the skateboarding to the cool people.
Pop music is also horrible, moreso than the majority of the 80's and 90's.
Rap - Stop bitching and get a real job!
Well, I guess those are unpopular opinions outside of here...

You guy's seem to agree on a lot of stuff so it kind of defies the "Unpopular Musical Opinions" topic. My musical opinions are far more unpopular on this board. So there.

Well, I suppose it's the fact that we all think our musical tastes to be unpopular when, in reality, they really aren't that unpopular. Now, as for your tastes, I really don't know what to say because, well, they really are unpopular. Servo
