Oh good, another M Night Shyamolon movie I refuse to watch.
But if anybody can get me to watch this prick's filmography, it's Mike, Kevin, and Bill. I'm in no hurry though. More appealing choices out there.

Don't know a thing about this movie. I will look it up and see if this is something I would enjoy.
OK, just did. Mass suicide is entertainment? No thanks.

I heard so too, but I swore off this man's idiocy after he crashed and burned me with Signs. I used to think he was just some self-important guy, who made bad movies everybody liked because they supposedly had depth (no matter how ill-concieved and kiddie poolish that depth was). Now my impression of him is that he fell victom to his own legacy, and actually started to think he was some genius that could do no wrong. And after his poor receptionof his last few films, he attempts an R-rated film (going all the way to advertise it with the tacky tagline of "his FIRST R-rated film") to see if he can win people back. Now everytime I picture him, I see this image of Dr. Evil from the first Austin Powers film saying "I'm cool! I'm hip!" and then proceeds to do a very poor imitation of the Macarena. Or, he could be just like the portrayal on Robot Chicken. "What a TWIST!"

That's exactly why I have some vague interest in seeing this. It's pretty fun to watch a movie that the director thinks is hugely meaningful or genius, but is actually crap. Maybe for his next film, the "twist" will be that that the film is good.

I don't have that much loathing for Knight. I liked 6th Sense and Unbreakable was great, it features some fine directorial touches so I know he has some skills buried deep within him... I'm glad to see that there is this new appreciation for that movie and it has found its audience. I'm kind of m'eh on the rest of his work. As for his Happening, I downloaded the trax, and I had to rent the film this time out. For some strange reason I could not find anyone, anywhere who owned it and could lend it to me. What were the odds of that happening?

OK, I was curious so I broke down and bought this trax and watched the movie along with it. Not bad at all. I have never really liked "plague" movies. It all started some years ago when during the Jurrasic Era I drug my date by the hair to see "Andromeda Strain" and fell dead asleep in 15 minutes. I found "The Happening" was so boring that for once nothing competed with Mike, Kevin and Bill's riffing and I was able to give my full attention to what was being said. As usual I stand in awe of their talent and powers of observation. Good Show!
