I posted on our forum, but this is probably the most re-written of all of the recent 3-riffer PD titles. Very little is the same as the original commentary Mike did way back when.

Would it be safe to assume that my non-Legend, Millennium edition would work fine with this?...Because I REALLY want this!

Would it be safe to assume that my non-Legend, Millennium edition would work fine with this?...Because I REALLY want this! I wouldn't make that assumption. We created the riff from the legend disc and in the past, public domain titles like this tend to vary from disc to disc, making synching a potentially frustrating experience. But if anyones tried it out with this disc, please let us know!

Yay!
Now do Diary of the Dead. You boys should have a lot of fun with that one.

In addition to Carnival, they are going to do Swing Parade and Missle to the Moon again as well.
I Don't get reasoning behind Missle, that was packed with quality riffs and it ranks as my all time fav.

NOTLD ReviewOh yeah this one was killer. Not as steady as some of their best, but when they'd get on a roll they slayed me. I haven't roared this loud on a full length feature since The Happening. (I felt Mike's original was the weakest Legend release, so this was a great improvement) And yes, there's a lot of new riffs.

Okay, so I downloaded it anyway, and though I haven't had a chance to sit through this, I did try to match up the synch lines with my Millennium edition. As it turns out, it synchs up nicely until sometime after the 59:06 mark when it suddenly becomes a difference of 6 seconds. Looks like I may have to NetFlix the Legend film edition (or just pause the iPod for 6 seconds when the time is right). Thank you all for the advice...just had to find out for myself.

Coming next in this series: Missile to the Moon (previously riffed by Mike and Fred Willard), Feb. 17 Don't get Missle, that was packed with quality riffs and it ranks as my all time fav. It will really surprise me if they re-riff Missile. I'm not a big fan of guest-riffers (I prefer Mike, Kevin, and Bill) but Mike and Fred Willard were awesome in Missile to the Moon.

absolutely true. i just can't accept other riffers than the original three, but fred willard was just a natural at it. i've always liked him.

Someone at the Rifftrax forum had a pretty good theory on why they might be re-riffing Missile: I just realised something, are these re-visits partly about having more public domain movies (and lovely restored/colourised versions at that) for live shows so the guys don't have to keep doing Plan 9 all the time?

That makes perfect sense to me. It's great seeing some B movies (albeit classic B movies) get riffed for a change (remake or not). I was getting weary of comic book hero riffs.
