The one I've been waiting for. And if anybody missed it, there's a new short out too.

I got this movie back before I started watching MST3k, and I've never listened to Mike's commentary. If the consensus is good, I'll check this one out.

I have been looking forward to this one for awhile now. I just finished watching it & it was really funny. I think that this is the best redo that they have done so far. I gave it a 10/10!

Oustanding! A few blots but otherwise stellar. My review CarnivalI also enjoyed the new short a lot Playing Together - it was a good double feature. A short followed by a classic cheesy movie. Man, if there'd been robots and mad scientists it would have been like old times.

I like Carnival of Souls quite a bit - it had a really unique feel for its time. In fact, I'll come right out and admit I'm a straight-up fan of this movie. I was starting to list the things I loved about the movie, but I suppose there might be some folks who havent watched it yet so I won't give any spoilers. Not that most folks would really dig it anyway I suppose. But this is just one of those movies that I really like. But I'm still really looking forward to the rifftrax Never watched the original riff, I don't really care for the solos.

Which version of the DVD? I have a copy and it does not seem to stay in synch. At All.

All of these new/old releases use the Legend Films version of the DVD. So if it's not that one, it's probably not going to work.

All of these new/old releases use the Legend Films version of the DVD. So if it's not that one, it's probably not going to work. That's only true in instances where Legend's version is a specific edit, such as with Reefer Madness, which contains restored footage not present in all versions of the movie. The riff of Carnival of Souls uses the 84-minute "director's cut", which can be found on Google, Hulu, the Internet Archive and on the Criterion Collection edition.

Also their Night of the Living Dead doesn't sync with some of the other DVDs out there. Most notably the Millennium Edition from Elite.

Also their Night of the Living Dead doesn't sync with some of the other DVDs out there. Most notably the Millennium Edition from Elite. Hm, I'm not sure what the problem is there. Works fine with Google Video. The Legend version is just the regular cut of the film. There's no significant differences between Legend's version and other transfers of the regular version of the film, maybe half a second edited on Legend's version. There's the regular edit of the film, the "30th Anniversary" edit and supposedly there is a shorter version of the film that runs 90 minutes. There's no reason why the riff wouldn't work with the normal version of the film, which is the version used by Legend/RiffTrax.

I ripped the Elite Millennium version and the sync lines were off by a minute or so by the 1 hour 10 mark. Also other people couldn't get the original RT Classic release of Mike's solo riff to sync with the vod of Legend's version.
